Company Registration No 2597134 The Wild Trout Trust - River Aire, Yorkshire, England June 2018 HY-TEX SEDIMAT IN-STREAM SEDIMENT ENTRAPMENT For this project, The Wild Trout Trust used our Sedimat in the River Aire in Yorkshire. They needed to catch the sediment in-stream for wider ecological benefit. The product was used to help facility the removal of a major barrier, Coniston Cold weir, which then allowed fish movement in the upper part of the river and complemented a scheme for salmon to return. The Wild Trout Trust worked over 2 days to complete this and partnered with the Aire Rivers Trust, the Environment Agency, the landowner and tenant farmer to complete the project in the most efficient way possible. The project was led by Professor Jonathan Grey of The Wild Trout Trust, and he was pleased with how the Sedimat performed. After its use in-stream, the Sedimat was then placed on an eroded bank downstream to stabilise and stimulate new growth. For this project, The Wild Trout Trust used our Sedimatin the River Aire in Yorkshire.
