SQL power! Strength and StabilitySECURITHOR database is managed by a PostgreSQL engine. With this new SQL database and the use of new programming tools, we can now add features in SECURITHOR that we could not dream of before. Now standard in SECURITHOR, you will find resizable windows with position memory for each operator’s workspace, training mode for new operators, auto fill and prewritten comments. New features will surely contribute to a faster and more standardized operation in the Central. Other standard features include the Operator’s alertness check, a timer for each alarm signal processing as well as a large comprehensive bank of reports.

NO COSTLY SQL LICENSE!SECURITHOR uses PostgreSQL. This reliable SQL database has been around for 15 years and is available for free. Contrary to other CMS soft-ware, you don’t need to add a pricey Microsoft SQL or MySQL that would double the price of your CMS software.

MADE FOR WINDOWS XP and VISTASECURITHOR is made for Windows XP and VISTA using the latest pro-gramming tools from Microsoft to insure the best compatibility with windows. SECURITHOR is routinely checked with both OS to insure full compatibility.

Built on the power and strength of SQL

WAM - Web Access Module is a key option for SECURITHOR from MCDI Security Products. With WAM, your subscribers, dealers/installers and key CMS staff will access some of SECURITHOR data and functions over the web via a normal web browser such as Firefox of Explorer. WAM for SECURITHOR is available as a server to install along SECU-RITHOR or as a service run by MCDI Security Products on dedicated servers. WAM is essential for Centrals who wants to reduce operating costs by reducing operators load or for Centrals that want to offer new services and generate more revenues from subscribers.

What will WAM do for each user?Subscribers can access reports, know if their system is armed or the status of a service ticket. They can modify part of their contact info or service options if you elect to let them. Subscribers access WAM by typing www.yourcentral-name.securithor.com in a regular browser. By entering their user id and pass-word they access information according to levels pre-defined by the CMS.

Dealers and installers only have access to their own accounts. They have the same access as subscribers plus the ability to get more reports such as traffic from the last day or the complete history of specific accounts. They can change several information of subscribers accounts such as contact info, alarm codes and manage service tickets. They can check which of their accounts are armed or disarmed at any given time. They can see the list of service tickets by customer, by group of customer or for all their accounts. Service tickets can be flagged as in process, completed, cancelled or postponed. They can make notes to customer history. They can’t process alarms or modify an account that is already being treated by the CMS.

CMS staff have the ultimate level of access in WAM. They can do everything the dealers and installers are able but they also have a special window to moni-tor some of the key indicators of the Central. They get special reports from the Operator awareness checks and can see indicators of the alarm traffic.

SQL strength and speedUsing WAM with SECURITHOR is possible because SECURITHOR’s database is SQL based and handled by a very strong and fast SQL engine, PostgreSQL. Numerous requests can be handled by SQL at the same time and speed of SQL engines will insure your Central is not slowed down by request from the web. Priority of computer processing is always given to Central’s operators first.

WAM SERVICE If you do not want to worry about web servers, uplinks, bandwidth and equipment maintenance, an easy solution is to contract WAM hosting with the makers of WAM and SECURITHOR. Linking your SECURITHOR to a WAM hosted on MCDI SP servers is easy and all the maintenance is done by MCDI SP. We run redundant servers with the WAM program.

When a subscriber types www.yourcentralname.securithor.com in browsers such as Firefox or Explorer, they request information from your WAM hosted on MCDI servers. MCDI servers then contact your SECURITHOR -over secure channel- to get the data. Your SECURITHOR verifies the access right of the subscriber and returns the information for the subscriber to view in a web page.

All this is done as fast as normal web browsing because most of the load is handled by MCDI’s servers not by your SECURITHOR. Of course it helps to have fast internet links between the CMS and MCDI but regular ADSL links will do the job for normal traffic.

Each Central who contracts WAM with MCDI gets a share of the server space. Each Central runs a distinct WAM application and connects only to his own share. Upon need, a Central can be installed on a dedicated server.

MCDI SP servers are hosted in a secure data centre in Montreal Canada with controlled access, redundant electrical and air conditioning feeds.

For superior connectivity to the internet, our servers are linked to several high quality carriers such as Peer 1, Teleglobe, Cogent and Level3. This insure the utmost uptime and very fast service all around the world. Our goal is zero downtime.

WAM service is backed by MCDI SP legendary support and a warranty of 99% monthly uptime.

Getting WAM as a monthly service is a nice way to validate if it’s a service you want to offer to your customers and if they appreciate it without making a commitment to a WAM server. Available December 2009.

KEY FEATURESSECURITHOR is so packed with features that we en-courage you to download a trial version from secu-rithor.com to check them all. Here’s a sample of what you will find in SECURITHOR:

Pick an alarm or arrange by priorityAll incoming alarms are shown in a general traffic window. Alarms are presented to the operator as they come in or sorted by priority code when the CMS receivers more alarm events than operators available. Priority codes 1 to 10 are colour coded for easy reading and predefined to insure op-erator does treat most important (e.g. fire or burglary) over low priority service alarm events.

If you recognize an important alarm event in the traffic window that should be treated readily, just pick it from the incoming traffic and process it (available to some super-vising operators only, in version 1.2). Other wise just let SECURITHOR decides of the alarm assignement from the priorities you defined.

Standardized commentsStandardized comments can be defined by the manager so operators use those when processing alarm or writing notes on events. Professionalism of the Centrals will show as somes comments and notes are shown to subscribers. This feature also speeds up processing time as notes or operators are largely the same day after day.

Automatic processing of alarm signalsSECURITHOR has the ability to process alarm automatically without opera-tors intervention. For each account, you can define an action for each type of alarm code. Some alarm are only logged automatically while other trig-ger email or SMS sending to NN email box or GSM phones. A high volume Central could operate automatically without operators if critical alarms monitoring is not needed.

Email and SMS sendingUpon receiving an alarm signal, SECURITHOR matches this signal to the customer account and checks automatically if an email or SMS should be sent for this particular alarm signal. Operators intervention is not needed as this operation is totally automatic. This email message can be personal-ized with from, subject, headers and footers predefined for your Central Station.

SECURITHOR works with Sony Ericsson GSM models to send SMS Short Message Service over the GSM network. This is a fast a realible way to send phone to phone SMS. Another way to send SMS relating alarm events is to use the email to SMS gateway of your GSM provider. Providers that offer this service typically use a porthole such as [email protected] .

Comprehensive schedulingSECURITHOR new scheduling section gives you real flexibility to create and edit schedules. Editing is intuitive, comprehensive and flexible. Copy schedules from template or add daily, weekly or monthly events just by

clicking. Select special holiday schedules. Easily extend a schedule on two days, weeks or months simply by dragging and stretching the event block.

Copy templatesNo need to retype all information each time you creat an account. Most CMS use only a few sets of alarm codes and generic schedules. Import them into a new account, edit them to your liking and create a new sub-scribers’ account in seconds.

Automatic periodical back-upDon’t get caught by equipment failure. Schedule back-ups on removable drive or network drive at regular intervals and let SECURITHOR handle back-ups. No need to quit SECURITHOR as back-ups are handled in the background without slowing SECURITHOR.

In case of equipment failure, SECURITHOR also includes a restore applica-tion so you can easily rebuild your database from the latest back-up. Back-up on demand is also available at any time. NAS supported.

EXTENSIVE REPORT SECTIONSECURITHOR goes further by using Crystal Reports technology for its Report Generation. Numerous filters available to tailor reports and help you manage your CMS and offer more to your customers.

To help you manage your Central Station operation you can select reports to fine tune open and closing settings and send Reports to customers. Filter by time period, account numbers, alarm receiver number, alarm code type etc... Reports can be formated as rtf, pdf, tab/comma delim-ited. Emailing to customers is possible for some type of reports.

The Network EditionIf you require several operators to handle alarm traffic or require a high-redundancy, high-efficiency monitoring setup, Securithor NE (Network Edi-tion) is the choice for you. To meet the demands of today’s CMS, Securithor NE was developed with security, scalability and speed in mind. Both small and large CMSs aiming for continued growth can benefit from Securithor NE’s scalable architec-ture; from a single server, single station installation to more complex instal-lations with server clusters, gateways and workstations, Securithor NE is designed to meet the demands of any Central Monitoring Station.

Our base server sits on a stable and secure Linux backend. Securithor is delivered with its own Linux distribution and easy-to-follow installer. No IT specialist is needed for a basic setup. Our support staff can offer training and assistance with larger and more complex installations for those who require them.

ArchitectureSeparate gateway and database server, clusters To enhance security and speed, the database server [1] and operation gate-way [2] can be separated. This ensures the security and stability of the database cluster as the load-balancing between operators [3] and requests from the Web [4] through WAM (Web Access Mod-ule) takes place before touching any of the nodes on the database. Global operation takes place on the gateway, as does da-ta-caching. The database itself is architected to al-low data-sharing.

Load-balancing and network throttlingAs SECURITHOR NE supports many different access points, we have includ-ed tools and measures to ensure that incoming alarms have priority over all other non-essential events. In this way, web requests, data migration, statistics calculations and all other non-essential database interactions are throttled dynamically according to a central’s current load.

Integration of MCDI 2-way VoIP: Several Extrium family receivers have the ability to transform audio signals from 2-way voice-equipped panels to IP and route this signal through the gateway to a specific station of SEC-CURITHOR.An operator can talk to a subscriber through a compatible panel without the need of expensive, external phone systems.

Easy upgrade path from single station edition to NESECURITHOR Single Station Edition and Network Edition share a common user interface and a similar database structure. Moving from SSE to NE is easily done and will not require operator re-training. Securithor NE is architected to allow a rolling upgrade, so the alarm central will incur no downtime.

POWERED BY

SECURITHOR network and LinuxThe architecture of STnet is based around a central server. This server can range from a typical PC to a high availability server depending on the traffic and uptime you require. MCDI SP supplies the operating system (Li-nux) and server tools for this version. Connected workstations are strictly Windows XP and VISTA.

The selection of Linux OS for the server increases stability and security. It also helps lowering cost of ownership given the free distribution of the OS itself. To insure operators are familiar with the environment, Windows XP and VISTA remain the choice for workstations.

The server is strictly used for the database hosting and serving and some automatic operations such as schedule checks, logging and emailing.

New SQL engine for SECURITHORIn designing SECURITHOR, we made sure to use SQL engine and data-base. SQL respects the 4 S we are looking for: Strength, Safery, Stability, Speed.

SECURITHOR is powered by PostgreSQL. This SQL engine has been around for 15 years and it is supported by a large community of develop-ers. But the best is that it is free to use so you do not have to add a pricey Microsoft SQL or MySQL license to the cost of your Monitoring software.

SECURITHOR comes will all necessary SQL tools and installation of the SQL engine is part of SECURITHOR installer.

Compatible with XP and VISTASECURITHOR was started with Windows XP and VISTA in mind. XP SP2, SP3 and VISTA are all taken into consid-eration when SECURITHOR is programmed. All tests are done on both OS. MCDI uses Microsoft made development tools to insure the utmost compatibility. SECURITHOR takes advantage of the Microsoft .net framework and all necessary components are part of windows or supplied and installed by SECURITHOR installer.

Advanced Graphical User InterfaceSECURITHOR desktop is stretchable up to 1900x1200 and most SECU-RITHOR menus have a hide and show feature to gain direct access on the desktop without the need to go through a maze of menus.

Each operator can customize his own workspace, place menus and forms of SECURITHOR as he wishes by simply dragging and docking on the work-space. This way every operator can optimize his own SECURITHOR for more efficiency. Settings are remembered for each operator when he logs in.

IP inputSECURITHOR is the platform of choice for MCDI new receivers with IP reporting. All Extrium line receivers can report to SECURITHOR over IP. SECURITHOR is supplied with IP interface for RIGHTKEY IP/GPRS receivers.

2 way voice to IPSECURITHOR is the preferred platform for MCDI Extrium line ‘2 way voice to IP’. Alarm signals such as Contact ID E606 keep the phone line open for 2 way voice communication between the Monitoring Center Operator and the Subscribers Alarm Panel. Audio is transmitted over IP from MCDI’s Extrium to the operators’ PC. Operators talk to subscribers seamlessly through the headset of their PCs thus eliminating the need to costly phone systems. With MCDI 2 way voice, most Central Stations can now offer PERS Personal Emergency Response Systems to their clientele.

Migration from SAMM and WinSAMM If you own a SAMM or WinSAMM, you can migrate to SECURITHOR eas-ily using the supplied migration tools. Most of SAMM/WinSAMM data is converted to SECURITHOR so you can start using SECURITHOR within minutes.

Several of SAMM and WinSAMM features along with the alarm process-ing are quite similar in SECURITHOR. Operators re-training is kept to a minimum.

Special discounts from SAMM and WinSAMM.SAMM and WinSAMM owners can benefit from special discounts when purchasing a SECURITHOR ST1 license. Remaining warranty or support contract is transferable to SECURITHOR.

Integrated help and training optionsHelp menus are integrated in SECU-RITHOR. Helps menus are always dis-played when the Training mode is select-ed and disabled when using the Advanced mode.

Online video tutorials are available from securithor.com and one to one web training sessions are also available from MCDI support staff.

Exprecium PCI receiversMCDI introduced the concept of receiv-ers on PC board back in 1993. with the original TLR. Exprecium 3 is now the 10th generation of MCDI receivers boards and the first RoHS compliant receivers on the market. With chassis and power supply provided by the host PC, Expre-cium boards are lower cost alternative yet not short on performance.

EXSA receiverThis stand alone receiver gives all the performance of Expre-cium in an external box. Configured by connected but can receive alarm as a stand alon receiver. 9 LEDs in front give status of both phone lines, connection to PC and printer.RoHS version handlesTunstall TTnew 2 way voice format. EXSA is perfect to extend Extrium capacity by adding 2 phone lines per unit.

DECRYPTA 3 receiverD3 is the work horse of hundreds of Central sta-tions. Main features are 2 power inputs, dual reporting over serial or USB ports, front display for viewing and configuration. Configuration menus in English, French, German, Portugese and Spanish. Availble as RoHS or non RoHS.

RoHS complianceMCDI is the first manufacturer to introduce RoHS compliant alarm receivers manufactured without lead, cadmium and pbb). Noneless than 3 models where RoHS compliant when this CEE directive came into effect. All new MCDI designs are totally in compliance with RoHS directive and offered with WEE recycling when returned to MCDI. With China and California adopting similar lead free, MCDI is not only a technology choice but also an ecological choice.

Ease of useMCDI external receivers are made to work out of the box, without the need of a technicians. Configuration panels are easy to understand and simple. Power redundancyAll MCDI models are designed to run on at least 2 power sources including 12V batteries. Some like D6 and Extrium even have a third souce, an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery to add one hour of operation in case of emergency or equipment maintenance.

Listen-in and 2 WAY voice integration with CMS softwareEXTRIUM units with integrated receivers all have the capacity to route audio signals from receivers over IP to MCDI SP’s SECURITHOR CMS software. No more web of wires!
