Carmel-by-the-Sea: Woman reported anunknown subject knocking at the front door ofthe Carmelo Street residence and walkingaround in the backyard. She stated nobodyshould have been in the residence. An areacheck was conducted and met negative results.She did not see the subject and did not have adescription.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Found cell phone onthe beach was brought to the station andbooked for safekeeping pending the location ofthe owner.

Pacific Grove: Subjects on LighthouseAvenue were involved in ongoing disputes overthe raising of a child. Subjects are divorced,and the father believes the mother is not raisingthe child properly. The mother stated the fatheris verbally abusive and is contacting her atwork, causing problems. A coworker was onscene who had witnessed the incident over thephone. Father was advised to be calm and beprofessional.

Pacific Grove: Injury accident at Grandand Laurel. Complaint of pain only.

Pacific Grove: Domestic dispute onJunipero where the suspect placed a victim in aheadlock and threw items.

Pacific Grove: Parties on Forest Avenuewere contacted in reference to a civil issue.Man wished to report he felt his neighbor wasattempting to provoke him to fight during averbal disagreement about sweeping a side-walk. The incident occurred around 1330hours. The neighbor told a similar account;however, he felt the other man was attemptingto provoke him to fight. No independent wit-nesses were located. Both parties were coun-seled to avoid unnecessary contact with eachother and to contact police should any further

Big Sur: Man reported his son was an over-due hiker in the Santa Lucia mountains.

Carmel Valley: A Carmel Valley residentcalled in a suspicious person portraying him-self as a PG&E worker and possibly casing aCarmel Valley property for burglary. Afterinvestigating the incident, it was determinedthe person was in fact a PG&E worker and wasconducting PG&E business. Case closed.

THURSDAY, APRIL 5

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A dog was found run-ning loose in the roadway on Carmelo Street.The dog was picked up and brought to the sta-tion for housing. The owner of the dog wascontacted and responded to the station to pickup the dog. All information was provided andlisted in this report.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A dog was foundwalking in the area and wandered into a SantaFe yard. The dog was picked up by officers andbrought to the station for safekeeping. A scanof the dog for a chip revealed the owner’s nameand the owner was contacted to pick up thedog. The dog was returned to its owner.

Pacific Grove: Officer was dispatched to apast-tense theft in a residence on Ocean View.Land owner stated she found out approximate-ly a month ago that there were several itemsmissing from her rental property. Unknownwho took the items.

Pacific Grove: Officer was dispatched topossible child abuse. CPS sent a fax andadvised the juvenile victim was being physical-ly abused and generally neglected by his moth-er. Victim advised a teacher his mother kickedhim after he was told to get dressed after sheslapped him across the face. The teacheradvised the victim had no marks.

Carmel area: Edgefield Place residentrequested assistance with her 43-year-old son.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Report of a burglary at a business onMission Street.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A citizen reported losing her identifica-tion somewhere in the Monterey/Carmel area sometime betweenApril 6 and April 7.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A citizen reported the loss of personalproperty in the Carmel area.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A citizen found a loose dog onCarpenter Street and brought it to the Carmel Police Departmentfor safekeeping. The owner was contacted by phone via a phonenumber on the collar. The owner came to the station, and the dogwas returned to her. Warning issued.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Subject reported the loss of a walletwhile patronizing a bakery in the commercial district.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Man called to report a dog wanderingin the roadway on Lincoln Street. The dog was brought to stationfor safekeeping. The dog owner later called to report the dogmissing and came to the station to pick up the dog.

Pacific Grove: PGPD officer was dispatched to a Country

Club Gate business where possible marijuana was located insidean article of clothing. Person had no idea who may have left thecontraband but wanted to turn it over to police for destruction.Officer collected the suspected marijuana, and after weighingand labeling it, booked it into evidence for destruction. (Therewere no test kits available.)

Pacific Grove: Presidio Boulevard resident wanted to reporther neighbor sprayed liquid on her vehicle. When it dries, it cre-ates white spots. She also wants to report the same neighborbanging on her fence earlier in the afternoon. Officer deemedthis incident unfounded. This report is for informational purpos-es only.

Carmel area: Male made several cuts on his arm and hadblood on his clothing. He used a razor to cut his arm. The sub-ject was transported to CHOMP for a 72-hour evaluation.

The remaining subject had already fled the scene.After speaking with several patrons, officers were unable todetermine who physically started the fight. There were no eyewitnesses to the event.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A vehicle stop was conducted on OceanAvenue, and the driver was found to be suspended. The driverwas cited and the vehicle was towed and stored.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Non-injury collision reported on MonteVerde Street.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: IPod found on Carmel Beach turned into Carmel P.D. for safekeeping pending return to owner.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Subject reported the loss of a digitalcamera in a case. Subject last at Carmel Beach in the area of the

Del Mar restrooms at approximately 1430 hours to 1600 hours.Pacific Grove: Report of a burglary from a bed-and- break-

fast inn on Central Avenue. Earrings and necklace taken.Pacific Grove: Concerned friends asked that a subject’s wel-

fare be checked due to text messages threatening suicide.Subject was found unresponsive with two empty prescriptionpill bottles in the room. Subject taken to CHOMP for 5150 holdand medical evaluation.

Pacific Grove: Golf ball broke the window to a truck onAsilomar. Owner requested documentation.

Pacific Grove: Subject was battered at his residence onBuena Vista and then assaulted with a stun gun. Suspect, a 46-year-old female, was arrested and booked at PGPD.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: Report of a theft from a hotel room onJunipero Street.

Carmel-by-the-Sea: A lost front license plate was reported.Carmel-by-the-Sea: Found property on Mission Street.Pacific Grove: Eleventh Street resident reported a property

line dispute with his neighbor. Resident reported neighbor cutdown the fence and came onto the property without permission.

Resident has a non-exclusive easement onto the neighbor’s prop-erty. Neighbor was advised of trespassing. Both parties wereadvised to seek remedy in civil court. Information only. End ofreport.

Carmel area: A victim called 911 to report a burglary to aresidence on Mesa Drive with no suspect information.

Planning Commission and Forest and Beach Commission

Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012, for the following unscheduled vacancies:

The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea is soliciting applications to fill two unscheduledvacancies: one on the Planning Commission and one on the Forest and BeachCommission.

PLANNING COMMISSION:

The term for the unscheduled vacancy on the Planning Commission must be filledby a resident and voter and will expire in October 2014. At that time, theCommissioner could apply for a full term to October 2019.

The Planning Commission consists of five members who have particular interestin, and familiarity with, planning matters.

Meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the City HallCouncil Chambers.

FOREST AND BEACH COMMISSION:

The term for the unscheduled Forest and Beach Commission vacancy must befilled by a resident and voter of the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea and will expire inOctober 2013. At that time, this appointment could be extended for a full term toOctober 2017.

The Forest and Beach Commission consists of five members who have interest inmatters concerning Carmel’s beach and forest areas.

Meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the City Hall CouncilChambers.

Persons interested in applying for the position may pick up an applicationand a description of duties for both Commissions at City Hall, located on theeast side of Monte Verde Street between Ocean and Seventh Avenues.Applications are available during normal business hours (8:00 am- 5:00 pm).
