From the World Leader inVRLA Battery Technology
Absolyte GX-Superior Performance
Superior Grid Technology
• 20 year design life in float applications at25°C (77°F)1
• Patented high performance Lead-Calcium-Tin Silver Positive Grid alloy
• Recyclable to world standards
• Superior cycleability - up to 1200 cycles to80% DOD at 25°C (77°F)1
• Full recovery from 100% depthof discharge, or other abusivedischarge conditions.
• Accepts high rate of rechargecurrent (100 Amps/100Amp Hoursof capacity).
The GX Advantage
• Square plate allows current to travel ashorter distance, lowering the internalresistance of the battery.
• Horizontal plate stacking eliminatesacid stratification for greater utilizationof the entire plate.
• Proven Absolyte history dating back to1983 when GNB debuted the first largecapacity VRLA battery in the industry.
• Dual lugs on plates improvesdischarge characteristics.
• The only single-cell VRLA-AGM batteryavailable with up to 3,000 amp-hours.
• The steel face plate contributes toproper heat dissipation.
• Robust design for high temperatureenvironments.
• Reduces need for paralleling.
Qualifications
• Absolyte GX is qualified to stack horizontallyup to six high for use in 1997 UBC Zone 4(at or below grade).
• ISO 9001:2000, UL Recognized

TheMost Reliable Post and
Jar to Cover Seal Design
In Plant Helium Leak Testing
Leaks 1000 times smaller than the eye can see arediscovered by a super-sensitive leak detection system, helping to guarantee the quality of the seals.
State of the Art Design
As an industrial battery ages, chemicalcorrosion causes the positive plates to expand, placing pressure on the posts, the cover andthe seals. Excessive plate growth, which can becaused by high temperature environments, maycause the positive plate to damage the coverand seals, thus shortening the life of the battery. The GX design helps to reduce this failure modeby removing stresses placed on the seals andcover by forcing the growth away from the seals.

The steel face plate reduces stress on the cover, and improves heat dissipation through the cover.
The post restraint spacer reduces stress on thepost using the face plate for support.
Plate growth is forced away from the postsand the cover seals.
Additional space is designed into the battery toaccommodate the positive plate growth.

The GX post seal design eliminates thelead to lead bond with a completelynon-corrosive polypropylene topolypropylene bond – formed by a fusionprocess that creates a bond as strong asthe original material.
The interface between the lead post andthe plastic sleeve is coated with a viscousbonding agent that helps guarantee a virtual-ly leak free bond.
The proven tongue and groove sealtechnology, used on the jar to cover seal, improves seal strength and durability.
Horizontal plate stacking improves heat dissipation through the tray.
High separator compression within the cell maintains plate to separatorcontact, helping to reduce the possibility of capacity loss.
Unique “S” wrap absorbed glass mat separator design helps preventpositive (orange) plate to negative (gray) plate shorting.
