Your character is really interesting! The embedded fossils are something that really works on my

imagination, and it could be a nice idea to perhaps scale these fossils and use remains of larger

    dinosaurs?

I also love the scroll that is created out of amber. The visual imagery that it creates is very vibrant and

could provide to be a really effective element within your scene :D

    Jake Bryant;12 November 2012 21:45 - To Anass

Somehow I haven't seen any of these posts! I like your idea of having the kind of 'cloaking device' on

your characters 'body-armour'. The background of your character is also interesting, but I think perhaps

you should define the narrative a bit stronger :)

I'll give you Tron tomorrow as well for more influence :D

    Jake Bryant;12 November 2012 21:34 - To Anass

These are great photo references! I think all your images have bold colour, which is an element that you

should keep throughout your design with could also assist you in developing a nice style. The last image

is my favorite as I think that the 'straight lines' are more effective and visually pleasing :D

    Jake Bryant;12 November 2012 21:56 - To Matt

    Hey Matt,

I like your idea of using a Totem pole as your hero prop. In case youre not set on using this as your final

prop, maybe you could consider using a peace pipe?

Or perhaps a traditional pan flute?

Also (If you haven't already) perhaps you could look into Navajo items for further inspiration or to find

influence to develop your own designs? Just a thought :)

    Peta-Gaye Brown; 13 November 2012 14:41 - To Jake

I really like number 4 two I agree with Samantha there is something really interesting about it has a very

sinister feel I guess its the glowing circles on each side that makes it look like he has an extra set of eyes

always watching his people to ensure that they are doing what he says.

Matt Coward; 13 November 2012 20:07 - In reply to Jake

Yeah sweet I'll look into the peace pipe and flute. I can still make it link in with the shaman/supernatural

    backstory I've got going on.

I've checked out the first link and I like the design :) it looks like a weapon at first, which is actually pretty

cool because maybe I could convert his peace pipe into having a more sinister side to it if it's needed

I will definitely look into the Navajo people as an influence to get the design ball rolling.

These are useful links man, is it because your Aztec component is almost linked to my one?

Jake Bryant; 14 November 2012 14:33 - In reply to Matt

The Navajo are people that intrigue me, especially the tribal societies :) they have an interesting

background which I know certain details about already, which I thought could be useful to your Amerind

    Magician.

The idea of creating a sinister peace pipe is fascinating, especially if you can link the prop into your

character profile and his/her background effectively as well :) Looking forward to seeing more of your

    thumbnails :)

    Jake Bryant; 14 November 2012 14:42 - To Matt

The top image of the tomahawk is really nice. It has its own unique style which I think could be effective

if you can convey this through your other designs and into your 3D work. The owl totem is also quite

interesting and could provide to be a strong component within your scene :)

Matt Coward; 14 November 2012 18:16 - In reply to Jake

Yeah cheers, I agree. I tried to transfer the style of the first image to the 2nd one of the hunting knife.

As for the totem pole I'm experimenting with using different animal representation that suits my

character's traits. I'm learning how to draw bears, wolves and eagles so I can apply them to my totempole.

I haven't looked into the pipe yet but I will definitely do so, it sounds intriguing.

Anass Moudakir; 14 November 2012 23:24 To Jake

Hey Jake, very interesting thumbnails, I really like the use of lines and the textures which reflect the

Aztecs structures design. I like how you are thinking about your space by considering different

views/angles, for instance 8.9.10 are very interesting as you mentioned, keep it up

    Jake Bryant; 15 November 2012 15:00 - To Peta-Gaye

    I haven't seen of these :O

I love your drawing style, its really unique and interesting and the mark making techniques you use

really give your thumbnails detail :)

    Jake Bryant; 15 November 2012 15:05 - To Peta-Gaye

These are so interesting! At first glance I thought these were stencil and spray paint, but to know you

have used the Photoshop techniques is great. These techniques will be really useful when youre

creating the textures for your 3D scene :D

    Anass Moudakir; 15 November 2012 18:47 - To Jake

Looking really nice, in my opinion I like 1c, 2c, 4c as they will stand out in your secret lair because of

their "glow" effect for instance 4C. I think you will have a clearer thought once you put colours and

    textures in your secret lair.

    Jake Bryant;Thursday, 15 November 2012 22:41:00 - To Anass

Thumbnail 3 is my favorite table, and in my opinion has the most 'futuristic' appearance :)

However, I think that these tables seem a bit modern rather than the furniture of the future. Maybe

tweak the designs and re-think some aspects of its practicality? For example; perhaps involving

retractable furniture or things built in the walls? What I mean by retractable is 'fold-away' items. I

believe there is a nice example of this in Tron? :D I think this could also fit in nice with the 'Secret Agent'

    part.

I spoke earlier with you about the hero prop, the idea is nice and it will be nice seeing your

    developments :)
