Sunny Receives a lot of sunlight throughout the year Suitable for harnessing solar energy
Windy Strong sea breeze is cooling and hence
requires less use of air conditioner
Benefits of the Location

Chek Jawa Harms and destroys marine ecosystem Destroy natural habitat
Other Beaches - Lack of space for resort - Too dirty
Why other places were not Suitable
![Page 10: Secondary 2 IDS Resort Planning](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022062521/56816938550346895de09c03/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
Land will be reclaimed from the sea to be used to extend the shoreline

Hard engineering methods Breakwaters
Solid granite walls to protect the erosion of shoreline
Soft Engineering Methods Beach Nourishment Encouraging growth of coral reefs
Coastal Management

1. Design - Using glass for the exterior of the resort, natural sunlight can be used for the lighting in the day
- Using wood for the interior of the resort allows a cooling effect on the rooms, making guests less inclined towards using air conditioning.
Green living practices in the resort

2. Light sensors can be installed at corridors, rooms and toilets of the resort, to reduce electricity consumption.
3. Washroom cisterns to have half-flush and full-flush functions
4. Leaflets and brochures to be printed with recycled paper.
Green living practices

Solar Power Solar panels consist of solar cells which are
made up of semiconductors like silicon Light rays are absorbed by the semiconductors
and causes the electrons to be in an excited state, flowing in one direction along a wire, thus producing electricity
