Transcript of Second part of Evaluation :P
4. Who would the audience be for your media product?
The audience for my magazine would typically be teenage girls, mainly 14-16 year olds but it could be read at any age around there really.
Similar to the cover artists. I think stereotypically, it’s predominantly white girls that are interested in pop music, so that
would be part of my target audience also, though my magazine would feature other genres, so I
have incorporated artists like rihanna from other backgrounds.
They’d probably be interested in going to see live music, the kind like t4 on the beach as
opposed to for example, reading festival.
The social class could vary with a pop magazine, but I tried to aim my magazine at around the c1 maybe b social class. So it’s not too common, but also, I don’t think many middle class people
are into the latest chart music.
As my magazine is in the ‘pop’ genre, I think it would be mainstreamers/followers who would be
interested in buying. There’s also a lot of female artists in the ‘pop’ genre, so I tried to
incorporate them into my magazine.
5. How did you attract/address your audience?

5. How did you attract/address your audience?
In comparison to my previous questionnaire~
in my questionnaire , I asked how much people would be prepared to
pay for a music magazine – the most popular answer as we can see by
the pie chart was clearly ‘upto £3’ – therefore, I felt I wouldn’t price my magazine at £3 – but 50p cheaper, because if people think they might
be getting some kind of deal, in comparison to what they actually would pay upto, they maybe more
inclined to buy.
How much would you be willing to pay for a magazine?

In my questionnaire, when asked which article they’d be most likely to read, the top three ranking answers were, ‘cd reviews’, ‘interviews with artists’ and ‘tour dates’, therefore, I replaced these three at the top of my footer ~ the place in which I would state the inside content,
because then readers would read them before the less popular
answers on the bottom – ‘new band information’, and ‘competitions’.
In my questionnaire,I asked which genre of music the reader would
most like to read. the most popular answer with almost half the votes was clearly
‘pop’ – and taking into account I asked
predominantly my target audience – I chose a pop
magazine.
