Seating people, that’s who we are, it’s what we do.That’s what we’ve been doing for over 40 years. The chair and sitting is something we’ve given a lot of thought to.Little wonder since sitting in a chair, that relatively unnatural position for the human frame, can be so many things: passive, concentrated, active, relaxed, alert, functional, aesthetic, waiting, daydreaming and so on.As an object, a chair can be anything from a sculpture to a highly technical machine, as the many quotations here collected can illustrate.

We don’t want to change the world. The people sitting daily in our products do that.We just make chairs.

LUXYseating people

We spend the first twelve months of our children’s lives teaching them to walk and talk and the next twelve telling them to sit down and shut up. Phyllis Diller (1917 - 2012) American comedienne

Work is love made visible. And if you can’t work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of the people who work with joy. Kahlil Gibran (1883 - 1931) Lebanese-US poet, artist, philosopher, writer

Kahlil Gibran (1883 - 1931) Poeta, artista, filosofo e scrittore americano-libanese
