The team did very well overall placing 3rd out of 8 teams. We have a fairly young team this year with eight 9th and 10th
graders in the starting lineup. We are exited as we see the performance of these young men improve as they gain
experience throughout the season.

Coaches Comments: We were extremely pleased to win the Burke dual considering that we had to wrestle without two
starters and considering that we are such a young team. Our three little guys really got us started with three pins in a row to
set the pace. Two really key matches went our way to seal the victory. Mike Santone defeated a very tough Justin Crouch in
a close match, and Jared Erspamer defeated a very tough, Dennis DeKay in ot to give Millard South the Victory.

Coaches comment: We feel very good about the team effort at Omaha South. Five Champions is the most we have had at
this tournament. Jared Erspamer was the Outstanding Wrestlers which was also a great honor for Jared and for our whole
team. Brandon Atkinson would have finished higher except he had to default out due to injury. Curtis Miller did an
awesome job filling in for Tyler Janssen who had been out ill during the week. All in all, it was a nice victory for the team.
Liberty Dual
MS 25 Liberty, Mo 39
On Saturday the 14th of December, the Millard South Varsity dueled Liberty, Missouri (at Millard South). Liberty is in the
largest class (4A) in Missouri. The city is just outside of KC. Our team was a little short handed for the duel as Brandon
Atkinson could not wrestle due to injury, and we had to use a JV to fill in at 125. Liberty returned 5 state qualifiers and 2 of
them were state placers. Winning matches for Millard South were: Jake Muirheid, Aaron Denson, Trevor Schave, Joe
Ellenberger, and Stephen Mannino. We were ahead going into the 189 lb match, but fell a little short to their veteran
squad.

Coaches Comment: Ralston was our most complete tournament effort of the year. We placed 13 wrestlers in the top 4
which is outstanding. We also crowned 6 champions which is our most of the year. We had 9 total in the finals which was
also outstanding. Every point counted in the race for the championship. Lincoln Northeast has a great squad, and they
pushed the team the whole day.

Winners for Millard South included: Curtis Miller, Aaron Denson, Mike Santone, Trevor Schave Jared Erspamer, Nate Coffey,
and Pat Doyle. Coaches Comment: It took a miracle for us to pull out the duel win. We wrestled very poor during the entire
duel. The match came down to the last two wrestlers. Pat Doyle pinned his opponent to put us on top. Curtis Miller
rounded things out with a major decision at 103 to put the W in our column. We look at any win as being a good thing, but
our team will need to work harder.

unseeded to earn a 6th place finish to bolster the effort. Benson Dual Millard South 49 Benson 24 Feature Match: Top
