There are instances where searches can be carried out even without

search warrants. Such instances included:

1. Search of property

2. Search for stolen property – if the police hasreasonable cause to suspect that you possessstolen property, or if they believe that for the past12 months, the premises have been occupied bypersons convicted of receiving stolen property, orharbouring thieves

3. Search of a place in the event of an arrestableoffence. For more information regarding arrestableoffences, see (insert hyperlink on arrestableoffences)

4. Search of premises if suspected to be entered by aperson who is to be arrested

5. Search of premises of a person who is related to anarrestable offence

6. Search of persons

7. Search of a person who has been arrested for anon-bailable offence (a non-bailable offence is anoffence where bail is not offered as of right)
