Due to excessive torque generally applied during installation – higher than the manufacturer’s recommendation – a risk of breakage existed with the old design. To encounter this situation, Corteco optimized these plugs by adapting the design and using a material with homogenous grain structure. This provides the oil drain plug with enough strength to withstand the highest torque. Technical reminder To obtain the best sealing and avoid the risk of breakage, car manufacturers recommend for these plugs a maximum torque of : 25 N.m. Design update of 220116S and 220054H
The design and material of oil drain plug 220116S and 220054H has been updated. Due to excessive torque generally applied during installation – higher than the manufacturer’s recommendation – a risk of breakage existed with the old design. To encounter this situation, Corteco optimized these plugs by adapting the design and using a material with homogenous grain structure.
