Presentation Day
Our annual Presentation Day will take place next Tuesday 10
th December, commencing at 9:30am in
the Yeates Hall.
Parents/caregivers, whose child or children are receiving an award on this day should have received a notification slip in an envelope addressed to you over the past few days. If you are uncertain about whether or not your child will receive an award please contact the office for clarification.
Busy Time of Year
We are now in the middle of an extremely busy time of year. I encourage all parents to read the school newsletter carefully and to ask their child/ren if they have received any notes on a regular basis so that they are up to date with the many happenings which will take place within our school over the next few weeks. Please speak to your child/ren’s teacher if you are unsure of upcoming events or require further information.
Red Cross Friendship Afternoon Tea Christmas Celebrations Students in the K – 2 choir, recorder group and the Yrs 3-6 choir visited the Red Cross and CWA over the last two weeks to perform at their Christmas celebrations. Well Done!

Year 1 Excursion
Students in Year 1 visited the Woolgoolga High School Agricultural farm on Monday 2
nd December. This
visit is tied into their unit of work focussing on “From Farm to Table”. Students enjoyed seeing the sheep, chickens, plants and lamas. They also looked at the vegetables and farm machinery.

The canteen will close Wednesday 18th December 2013.
Some food items will be running low in the canteen over the next two weeks but we will try to fill orders as close as we can with the food we have available.

Early Stage 1 / Stage 1 Fun Day
On Thursday 12th December students in
Kinder to Year 2 will have their annual fun day down at Woolgoolga Main Beach. No swimming is allowed. Children are able to wear casual clothing but please remember to bring your hat. No singlet or shoe string strap tops and no thongs please. Please return the permission note and $4.00 to your teacher as soon as possible.

Year 3 Arrawarra Excursion
Last week our Year Three students had an enjoyable and informative day at the Arrawarra Headland exploring the rocky shores and learning about the significance of our local area to the Aboriginal people. Mark and Chantelle, our two guides, passed on a lot of information and knowledge. We were lucky enough to see a large turtle that had been stuck in a rock pool as the tide changed. We had a fantastic day.

Year 6 Farewell
Our Year Six Farewell Dinner is on next Thursday 12
th December.
Teachers and committee members have been hard at work getting everything ready for what promises to be a great evening for our graduating students. Students in Year 6 are asked to return their notes and money as soon as possible for their end of year farewell dinner.

Last few weeks in primary school. . .
Graduation Assembly The following day, Friday 13th December will see our students being formally recognised for their time at Woolgoolga Public School with the official graduation assembly. Students will receive a school badge, a Year 6 photograph and a commemorative magazine. Parents/caregivers are all invited to attend.
Picnic Lunch This year we have planned a picnic lunch for Year 6 students and their parents immediately after the graduation assembly. Students and their families can either bring their own picnic lunch or order from the canteen. A separate note will come home for orders. We hope all students and families will enjoy this informal get together after the graduation.
Premier’s Reading Challenge 2013 Congratulations to the 277 students who completed this year’s Premier’s Reading Challenge. Fifty two of these students received Gold certificates (4 years of successful participation). Congratulations to Alex Rook who has received a Platinum certificate, this is awarded for 7 years of successful participation.
