  • Coaches Corner Hey Sea Dragons! This week kicks off two very exciting things at Cary Park: swim meets and morning practices! Our first meet of the season is this Tuesday at home vs. Medfield, and the coaches are excited to rock our best "Out of This World" gear. I hope you are too! In addition to our normal fast swimming and great sportsmanship, we'll be looking for team spirit!

Morning practices will be starting the Wednesday morning after our meet. I'm looking forward to some early morning training! We've put in some awesome work this week, including some great technique work, a lot of speed and kick training, and an AWESOME 2,000+ yard practice by our 9 and ups on Saturday! Huge shout-out to our swimmers that completed that set, you guys rocked it!

This week we have also emphasized three rules:

    1. Finishing strong all the way to the wall on every swim,

    2. Waiting for all six swimmers in your heat to finish before you get out of the water, and

    3. Congratulating those competing next to us.

Those rules are important! Myself and the coaching staff are looking forward to next week when the season really gets rolling, as well as seeing you Monday evening for practice!

    Go Sea Dragons!

    Coach MJ

    SWIM TIPS!

Biggest Swim Tip is showing great sportsmanship at our first swim meet!

Swim Lessons! Our coaches are available for private lessons for your Sea Dragon. The 2019 Swim lessons are $25 per half hour for private or small group (up to 3 swim-mers). To contact a coach, select Coaches in the top left corner of our website.

Congratulations to the Sea Dragons of the Week!

Volunteer Reminders 1. Please check in for your shift before the meet starts! This also goes for second shift jobs or breakdown. If you are arriving after work, please have a neighbor or spouse let us know. If you do not check in, you do not get credit.

    2. PLEASE, BUY A SHARPIE!! PUT IT IN YOUR SWIM BAG! You MUST mark your swimmer with their name and number prior to arriving at the meet...just like putting on their swim suit.

    3. We will be checking points through next week. Families must have 6 points by the end of the 3rd meet on 6/25.

If families have not signed up for points, their swimmers will not be able to participate as we need all to be contributing time to make swim team possible!

Most parents have a good handle on volunteer points! THANK YOU!!

If you do not, please email Kristen or Chandra for help. We are always adding new needs. We are happy to help!

    4. Parents, after you drop off your child with the dragon tamer at the meets, re-frain from going back to the tents. The space is very crowded and the swimmers need to be able to get lined up for their races. The dragon tamers will help your child find you if there is a need.

    Dear Cary Park Swim Team,

My sister and I are organizing a clothes sale for a service project on Saturday, June 15th. It will be held at the Cary Park Club House from 9am-12pm. We are going to donate all of the money made to an organization called "Korah Kids" (https://www.korahkids.com/). By buying these clothes you will help provide clothes and a better, safer life for many kids in the village of Korah in Ethiopia. We will have name brand clothes in many sizes for men, women, and children at great prices. Please come support this worthy cause and get some great deals for you and your family! We will take cash, checks and Venmo payments.

    Thank you!
