Samples were received intact and within proper temperature criteria.

Results are reported 011 a wet weight basis unless dry-cossection is denoted in the units iicld on the analytical report ("mgtkg-dry").

All method blanks, laboratory spikes, andlor matrix spikes met quality control objectives for the parameters associated with this Work Order except as detailed below or on the Data Qualifier page of this report. Data QualiIiess used in tliis report are in accordailce with ADEQ Arizona Data Qualifiers, Revision 3.0 9/20/2007.

Data qualifiers ("flags") contailled within this analytical report have been issued to explain a quality control deficiency, and do not affect the quality (validity) of the data unless noted otherwise in the case narrative.

Worlc Order: 09040166 Ilate Receivcd: 09-Apr-09

One or more of the following data qualifiers inay be associated with yoirr analytical and/or quality control data.

D I Sample required dilution due to matrix.

D2 Sample required dilutioil due to high concentration of target analytc.

E2 Concentration estimated. Analyte exceeded calibration range. Reailalysis not performed due to sample matrix.

H3 Sample was received and analyzed past llolding time.

115 '1-11is test is specified to be performed in the field within IS minutes of sampling; sainpte was received and analyzed past the regulatory holding time.

M 1 Matrix spike recovery was high, the associated blank spilce recovery was acceptable.

h4 2 Matrix spike recovery was low, thc associated blank spike recovery was acccptabie.

M 3 The spike recovery valite is unusable since the analyte concentration in the sa t~~ple is disproportionate to spilce level. 'I'he associated blank spike recovely was acceptable.

M 4 The analysis of dte spiked sa~llple required a dilution such that the spilce recovery catculation does not provide irseful information. Tile assoc~atcd blanlc spilce recovery was acceptable.

Analytical Spike (AS) The AS is a Icnown alnount ofa target analytcadded to a sampleafter it has been distilled, digested, or extracted and is ready for analysis. Tile AS is genesally pcrfor~med it-the MS has failed. It is used lo indicate i~iterfweice that arises Eom sample distil$~tion, digestion, or extraction as opposed to interference that is iniiatc to the matrix.

Confir? uing Curve - The CCV is also rcferred to as a curve check. 'I'liis is a standard analyzed at specified / Verificalion (CCV) intervals during an analysis. The CCV veri ii es the stability and accuracy of the

calibration curve. There are specific CCV lecovery acceptance criteria for each nlethod.

Dilution Factor (DF) The DF is an indication o f h o ~ r much a sample had to be diluted in order to quantitate it on a standard curve. The DF is iudicatcd in the reported sample result. Tlie sample PQL increases as tile dilution increases.

Internal Standard (IS) The IS is a cotnpound that is siinilar to the organic co~npound of interest in terms)of chemical co~nposition but is unique in that it is rare in the environment. The sarile concel~t lati 011 of IS is added lo every sa~nptc for some organic methods.

Laboratory Control 'The LACS is also referred to as a blanlc spike. The LCS is an addition of a known a~noi~nt S~nipl e (1,CS) of a target analyie(from the same source as calibratioii statldards or spiltes) to an aliquot

of deionized water or other appropriate clean matrix. The LCS is processed through the entire method procedure in the same manner as samples.

Matrix Spilcc (IMS) Tile MS is ti lcnown amount of a target analyte added to a sample. The MS is processed through the entire method procedi~rc in tlie same nianncr as saniples.

Method Blank (MU) The MB is an aliquot of deionized water or other appropriate clean matrix that is thought to be fice ofthe analyte in question. The MB is processed tllrougli tlie entire ex<racfion or analysis procedure and is used to indicate contamination in tlie lab.

Method Detec~ion The MDL is the lowest level of detecfion ofwhich a 111ct11od is capable. Limit (MDL)

I'racticai Q~~antitation Thc PQL is the Iowcst value at which Colu~nbia Analytical Services can delect an Limit (PQL) a1121lyte in niatrix with a high degree of confidence. 'The PQI, will increase as the DF

increases. The PQL is greatel. than or equal to the MDL.

Relative Percent The RPD is a measute orprecision (the ability to obtain the same result on re-analysis of Differcnce (RPD) the same saniple). It is calculated using the result of a sa~iiple, MS, 1,CS, or LCSV and

its associated duylicatc result.

Seco~idary Source QC Sample (1,CSV)

Sunogate

Trip l3 lank (7'R)

The LCSV is also referred to as a second source laboratory control san?plc. It is the same type of standard as a calibration or spiking standard but is obtained fiom a different source. Tile LCSV is an indication oftlie primary standard quality, nietllod performance, and instrument perfo rrnance.

A si~rrogate cotnpou nd is simi lar to the organic compound of interest in telliis or cl~emical con~position but is unique in that it is rarc in the environnlent. When surrogates are used, they are addcd to every sample, blank and standard. Surrogate lecovety is used as an indication of extraction atldlor analytical success.

The TB is a portion ofdeionized water preserved in the same nianncr as the samples. The T B travels fi-om the lab. to tile field, and then back to the lab with the samples from thc field. Tile TB serves as an indication of containination introduced during sai-nple transportation.
