JakLyN mashak, ms, pa-c: Jaklyn worked as a pediatric dietician before following her interest of aesthetics into the surgi-cal world. Jaklyn has continued her medical education in aesthetic medicine specializing in laser procedure technology as well as inject-able and neurotoxins under Dr. Dayan, helping patients achieve their desired aesthetic look through various treatments and procedures.

What Is a pa?Physician Assistants (PA) are health professionals who practice medicine under the supervision of a physician. PAs deliver a broad range of medical and surgical services. As part of their comprehensive responsibilities, PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, and prescribe medi-cations. Upon graduation, physician assistants take a national certification examination developed by the National Commission on Certification of PAs in conjunction with the National Board of Medical Examiners. To maintain their national certification, PAs must complete 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and sit for a recertification every six years. Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program and passage of the national certifying exam are required for state licensure.

A cold winter day a few years ago, the SDMD team scurried through the hustle and bustle of a busy clinic day. Despite full schedules and the heavy snowstorm outside, there was a surprisingly positive energy in the office thanks to a par-ticular patient who had recently underwent a face lift.

As we walked in the room we saw the patient looking at us with tears of joy in her eyes, beaming with happiness. It was a palpable emotion that warmed our entire staff. At that mo-ment we realized cosmetic procedures shouldn’t be shown through before and after pictures, but felt through journeys and stories that our past patients have embarked upon.

Meet our Patient Profiles, an amazing group of women who have turned to Dr. Dayan and his team for a variety of aesthetic reasons or needs. What do they share? A newly found inner radiance and confidence.

This year, our ladies were invited to a day of fun, beauty and feeling good. After professional hair styling and make-overs, they were outfitted in designer clothes and spent the sunny day showing their inner and outer beauty with an indoor and outdoor photo shoot around the city. The day was busy, but full of smiles, laughs and a positive energy that we’ll never forget!
