Haseeb Hafeez will be discussing hygiene maintenance considerations when it comes to Fixed and Removable prosthetics. Haseeb will talk about several fixed and Fixed-Removable prosthetic options and hygiene protocols.

Haseeb A. Hafeez, DT(Dip), DD has been practising Denturism in Brampton, Ontario where he has operated his practice since 2000. Haseeb graduated from George Brown College completing both Dental Technology and Denturism programs. Haseeb takes a real interest in implant-retained and implant-supported prosthetics. Haseeb also enjoys teaching future Denturists at George Brown College.

Current Concepts and Controversies in Implant Dentistry Dr. Murray ArlinCommercial entities are continually trying to convince us that they have the latest and greatest innovations. It is difficult for the practitioner to do the research to separate fact from fiction. This seminar will draw upon

the speaker’s personal experiences from over 15,000 implants placed and followed for up to 30 years. As well an “evidence based approach” will be taken, also incorporating the pertinent available evidence and applying a philosophy of “patient centered care”. This will be a “no holds barred” seminar where current concepts and controversies will be exposed.

Murray Arlin, D.D.S., dip. Perio. Dr. Arlin graduated with his D.D.S. degree from McGill University in 1977, and completed a 1 year hospital residency in General Dentistry in 1978. He then attended the University of Toronto earning his specialty degree in Periodontics in 1980 and is a Fellow of Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Arlin was a lecturer at the University of Toronto, and the Nova South Eastern University in Florida. He continues to lecture both locally and internationally. Dr. Arlin was the co-founder of the Toronto Implant Study Club in 1992 which grew to be the largest private study club in Canada, and was the sole founder of the Dental Hygienist Periodontal Study Club of Toronto. He is a past president of the Ontario Society of Periodontists and of the Ontario Society for Osseointegration.

As IOS are becoming widespread in clinical dental practice, it is important to understand the impact that technological changes are having on the way

the dentist, denturist and lab interact.

Alex will speak about the advantages using optical impressions compared to conventional impressions and their accuracy, as well as evaluate the differences between the IOS currently available commercially.

Alex Dulevski has worked as a Dental Technician for over 13 years, with eight years in Dealer Sales. Alex has been the Executive Account Manager with Carestream since 2015, where he specializes in x-rays, and full digital workflows.

and public implant seminars play in helping to educate & inform their patient base about dental implants; and how this can relate to increasing case acceptance by patients.

Dr. Waji Khan is a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry (2001). Dr. Khan served as a dental officer in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1998-2007 and began his practice there. After a ten-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces, he then moved to Kingston with his wife and life partner, Dr. Sohela Vaid. Dr. Khan enjoys working in all areas of dentistry with a particular interest in cosmetic/esthetic, implant, sedation, restorative, orthodontic and surgical dentistry to improve oral health and boost confidence. He is dedicated to providing oral health care in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Practitioners are now using intra-oral scanners for digital acquisition for all restorations with success. They are now asking: “how do I relate these digital

acquisitions into the same orientation of the patient mouth.” This presentation will consist of the following topics:1. Techniques to create excellent digital impressions with the Medit i500.2. Transferring files in proper orientation and how it relates to the patient.3. Treatment planning with exocad software for implants.4. Thoughts and processes on creation of final restorations.

Mark and his siblings Nicole and Eric at the helm. Digital Dentistry is not new to the Rotsaerts. In 1986 Henri met Dr François Duret and invested in his chairside system Hennson Industries. Mark has been involved with digital dentistry for more than 20 years.

In 2004, Rotsaert Dental Laboratory started Emerald Dental Works - the first milling center in Canada with 3M ESPE LAVA. In 2014 Emerald Dental Works introduced EmCad, an exocad design system. Emerald now has partnerships with Medit for scanners, Envisiontec for 3d printing, Roland for mills and Zircom for sintering furnaces. Most recently with the addition of the Medit i500 and elos scan bodies, Emerald is creating solid solutions for intra-oral scanning. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the perspective of an owner.
