the specifications on the rating plate.▶ Connect the appliance to a power supply with alternating

current only via a properly installed socket with earthing.▶ The protective conductor system of the domestic electrical

lead to a considerable temperature increase in the compart-ments of the appliance.▶ Regularly clean the surfaces that may come into contact

switch off the appliance, defrost it, clean it and leave thedoor open to prevent the formation of mould.

Note: Too much drinking watermay impair the function of the icecube maker. The ice cubes cannotbe removed individually from theice tray. Too much drinking waterwas added and is running into theice cube container, causing anyice cubes to freeze together.

3. Pour drinking water into the fillinghole  , re-insert the water con-tainer  and slide in the frozenfood container with ice cubemaker  .

4. When the ice cubes are frozen,press the lever down and releaseit.

a The ice cubes will loosen and fallinto the ice cube container.

5. Pull out the ice storage containerand remove the ice cubes.

Switching on the appliance1. Press .a The appliance begins to cool.a A warning signal sounds and

lights up because the freezer com-partment is still too warm.

2. Switch off the warning signal with.

Operating tips¡ Once you have switched on the

appliance, the set temperature isonly reached after several hours.Do not put any food in the appli-ance until the temperature hasbeen reached.

¡ The front panels of the housing aretemporarily heated slightly. Thisprevents condensation in the areaof the door seal.

¡ When you close the door, a va-cuum may be created. The door isthen difficult to open again. Wait amoment until the vacuum is offset.

Switching off the appliance▶ Press .a The appliance stops cooling.

Setting the temperatureAfter you have switched on the appli-ance, you can set the temperature.

Setting the freezer compartmenttemperature▶ Press / repeatedly until the

temperature display shows the re-quired temperature.The recommended temperature inthe freezer compartment is−18 °C.

Automatic Super freezingAutomatic Super freezing automatic-ally switches on when warm food isplaced in the freezer.With automatic Super freezing, thefreezer compartment cools down to amuch lower temperature than for nor-mal mode. This freezes food quicklyright through to the centre.If the automatic Super freezing isswitched on, lights up and in-creased noises may occur.After operation, the applianceswitches from automatic Super freez-ing to normal operation.

Manual Super freezingSuper freezing cools the freezer com-partment as cold as possible. Thisfreezes food quickly right through tothe centre.Switch on Super freezing four tosix hours before placing food weigh-ing 2 kg or more into the freezercompartment.In order to utilise the freezer capacity,use Super freezing. → "Prerequisites for freezing capa-city", Page 18Note: When Super freezing isswitched on, increased noise mayoccur.

Switching on manual Super freezing▶ Press .a lights up.

Note: After approx. 60 hours, the ap-pliance switches to normal operation.

Switching off manual Super freezing▶ Press .a The previously set temperature is

displayed.

CAUTIONRisk of harm to health!During the thawing process, bacteriamay multiply and spoil the frozenfood.▶ Do not refreeze food after it has

been defrosted or started to de-frost.

▶ Refreeze food only after cooking.▶ These items should no longer be

stored for the maximum storageperiod.

The temperature alarm can beswitched on without risk to the frozenfood in the following cases:¡ The appliance is switched on.¡ When large quantities of fresh food

are put in.¡ The freezer compartment door is

open for too long.

Power failure alarmIf the freezer compartment becomestoo warm after a power failure, thepower failure alarm switches on.lights up and appears in the tem-perature display.

Switching off the warning tone(temperature alarm)▶ Press .a The warning tone is switched off.a The temperature display briefly

shows the warmest temperaturereached in the freezer compart-ment. The temperature displaythen shows the set temperatureagain.

You can store frozen food, freezefood and make ice cubes in thefreezer compartment.The temperature can be set from−16 °C to −26 °C.Long-term storage of food should beat –18 °C or lower.The freezer compartment can beused to store perishable food long-term. The low temperatures slowdown or stop the spoilage.The time between putting fresh food inthe freezer compartment and it freezingsolid depends on various factors:¡ Set temperature¡ Food (size and type)¡ Quantity and type of storage¡ Quantity and type of food already

stored

Freezing capacityThe maximum freezing capacity indic-ates the quantity of food that can befrozen right through to the centrewithin a specific period of time.Information on the maximum freezingcapacity can be found on the ratingplate. → "Appliance", Fig. 1 / 5 ,Page 14

Prerequisites for freezing capacity1. Approx. 24 hours before placing

fresh food in the appliance, switchon Super freezing. → "Switching on manual Superfreezing", Page 17

2. Fill the upper compartment withfood first. This is where the foodfreezes most quickly.
