COMING SOON! Trips Books for 2020!

NEW SNACK BAR PRICES COMING: We have had many requests for the snack bar to sell candy bars on a regular basis and also to offer some more healthy items. The costs for Friends to provide these items will increase as these items are more expensive to purchase. In order to provide expanded choices, we must increase prices for all items on the snack bar. Beginning October 1, all snack bar items will cost $1.00. The cup size for coffee and tea will increase from 8 ounc-

es to 12 ounces to provide more value for your money. We will be selling new punch cards at the snack bar and front desk, where each punch will be worth $1.00. Cards will cost $10.00 each. Through December, if you purchase a punch

card, it will have two FREE punches.

SPECIAL EVENT SIGN UP: We would like to remind everyone when you sign up for a special event, luncheon or workshop, please let the center know if you must cancel and will not be able to attend. We often have a waitlist of indi-viduals who would like to come, but if people don’t cancel and then don’t come to the event, those individuals miss out.

The food at the luncheons is paid for based on a count of the number of people signed up, and if you don’t cancel and don’t come, the meal must still be paid for. Remember to mark your calendars when you sign up so you don’t forget! In

addition, if you would like to attend an event, please make sure that you do sign up so you will be counted. Thanks!

SIGN IN AT THE TOUCHSCREENS: We would like to remind everyone to sign in when they come to the center for ALL of the classes and activities you are participating in. Keeping accurate data about center usage is crucial to provid-ing support to any requests for expanding the building, services and programs at the center. It is important that we keep track of not only the number of individuals coming into the center, but also what activities people are participating in. To assist those who might have trouble with the touchscreen, we have installed a stylus at each computer. You can use

the stylus to tap the screen rather than using your finger. We hope this is helpful when signing in.

The Advisory Council and Friends welcome everyone’s thoughts, ideas, concerns and suggestions. They and the staff are available for your input. If you do not wish to speak directly to staff, Council, or Friends members, there is

a suggestion box located on the podium by the front desk.

Shirley and Judy have been working hard to plan trips for next year, and the trip book is in the works. It should be available soon at the front desk. Make sure to pick

up a copy and get your trip reservations in because trips will fill up fast.

A few reminders about signing up for trips: • Trips are open to senior center members only. Current membership will be verified at sign up. • Please book only those trips that you know you can attend, as trips fill up quickly. • A deposit is due when you sign up for a trip. Names will not be placed on the trip list without a deposit. • If a trip is full, please add your name to the waitlist. There are often cancellations and we will call names

from the waitlist. • Make note of when your balance is due, it is your responsibility to get your payment in by the due date. • If you need special accommodations, please indicate this when you sign up for the trip. • The trip committee will not call you to remind you that you have signed up for a trip. It is your responsibil-

ity to show up on time for departures. Buses are not able to wait for anyone.

The Trip Desk is located in the office behind the front desk. Stop at the front desk when you are coming to visit the Trip Office and the front desk volunteer will inform the Trip Committee you are here to see them.

Trip payments can dropped in the wall safe when the Trip Office is closed. Happy Traveling!
