Assess Your Scrum TeamEvery team has a PO & SM with a clear, ordered backlog; they perform all Scrum events and deploy on their own.

Some of the events, roles are missing but they still produce working product each Sprint.

Bad Symptoms• “We have no dedicated PO or SM roles.”

• “Our teams do some events, no one goes to backlog refinement.”

• Not an event

• A “Team of Teams” that have a need to coordinate

• Responsible for a shippable increment of product at the end of a Sprint.

• May need experienced architects, QA Leaders, members of the Product Ownership Team, and other operational skill sets

• Meet daily in the Scaled Daily Scrum (SDS)

• Improves the effectiveness of the Scrum of Scrums.

• Spreads and standardizes knowledge

• Discuses and resolves dependencies

• Could be one of the teams’ SM

• Same responsibilities of the PO but at scale:

• Sets a strategic vision for the whole SoS.

• Release planning for the SoS.

• Create a minimal, uniform “Definition of Done” that

applies to all teams.

• Resolve dependencies raised by the teams.

• Decide upon and monitors metrics

• Leads the MetaScrum event if there is no CCPO

• Must have a CPO, a SM and a transparent backlog.

• Members include leaders who can change company policy without having to ask permission [ex. COO, CIO, CTO]
