JOB TITLE: Scrum Master
Reports To: Brian Gager, Software Development Mgr.
Department: Managed Team
Job Location: Tampa, Fl Office
SUMMARY:
The Scrum Master will work closely with the Software Development Manager to provide overall
planning, coordinating, and management of multiple software implementation projects utilizing
the Scrum Methodology for the assigned product group team; more than 50% of their work
output being dedicated to this business need. In addition, this individual will:
Be a thought leader in defining Accusoft processes on assigned projects.
Motivate team and help them to accomplish agreed upon goals
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
● Guides the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to
accomplish company goals.
● Assesses the Scrum maturity of the team and helps coach the team to higher levels of
proficiency.
● Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution during scrum ceremonies.
● Supports the Software Development Manager, especially with respect to grooming and
maintaining the product backlog.
● Schedules and facilitates all scrum related ceremonies.
● Maintains sprint burn down chart and all project/team level reporting as needed including
monitoring team velocity.
● Works with the Team to identify any impediments or problems that may affect the teams
success.
● With the assistance of the Software Development Manager, helps to remove obstacles
and impediments to clear the path for the scrum team.
● Works with Software Development Manager on capacity planning.
● Ensures smooth communication within the scrum team and other cross-functional teams.
● Monitors project deliverables and progress through continuous communication with
development team.
● Assist with team member responsibilities as needed and/or time permits
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities for direct reports, but may mentor less experienced
peers and provide team leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or
other math or computer related disciplines; 4 or more years of real industry experience in
software development in a variety of roles on a variety of projects with at least one year in a lead
capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Scrum Master Certification
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Required:
Experience delivering a world-class customer experience and a detailed understanding of
what made that customer experience world-class
Experience with Agile Software Development Process
Excellent understanding and experience in disciplined application of quality assurance,
source control, defect tracking, change management, requirements management, object
oriented analysis and design techniques.
Experience shipping one or more large-scale products to market.
Experience managing several independent projects simultaneously.
Previous experience in software development.
Preferred:
Experience in designing and developing JavaScript Web Applications
Experience in designing, developing and using RESTful services
C/C++, .NET, JavaScript or Java Development Experience
Experience with document imaging or other imaging development.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent understanding and experience in disciplined application of quality assurance,
source control, defect tracking, change management, requirements management, object
oriented analysis and design techniques.
Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories,
ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing,
Agile Games
Highly motivated and self-driven individual, who can motivate scrum team members
with his/her energy and attitude
Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects
Prior experience in development or Quality Testing
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Ability to work with all levels of management
Strong organization, problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to take initiative and contribute to a high-performance team
TRAVEL:
Up to 15% travel may be required.
