Ebenezer Scrooge was a miserable, mean, nasty man.

Scrooge had lots of money.

Jacob Marley worked for Scrooge.He was mean and unkind too.

Scrooge was unkind to Jacob Marley. Jacob Marley was sad.

Jacob Marley died.

Bob Cratchit came to work for Scrooge. He was always cold. Scrooge is nasty to Bob and is angry that he has to give him Christmas day off.

Two men came to see Scrooge. They asked Scrooge for some money so that they could help the poor children.

Scrooge was very nasty and he said,

Jacob Marley was an unhappy ghost. He had to walk around in chains because he had been unkind to people.

His ghost came to visit Scrooge.

He was very scared.

He came to warn Scrooge not to be unkind to people.

Scrooge was scared.

He told Scrooge that three ghosts would come to visit him.

A white figure visited Scrooge. It held a branch of fresh green holly in its hand. It said ‘I am the ghost of Christmas past.’

The ghost of Christmas past took Scrooge back to the past when Scrooge was a boy. He loved to read.

The ghost of Christmas past showed Scrooge when he was a boy.

The ghost took him to see Mr Fezziwig.Scrooge used to work for him.

Next, the ghost took him to see a party. He saw a happy man. He was dancing.

Mr and Mrs Fezziwig loved each other and they were happy.

Scrooge was happy. He was dancing.

Scrooge saw himself as a young man. He was very happy. Now he is mean

and unkind.

Scrooge is older now. He is sad.

Scrooge’s friend is sad too because he is mean and nasty now.

The ghost of Christmas present

Scrooge then had a visit from the ghost of Christmas present.

The ghost of Christmas present took him to London

The ghost took Scrooge to Mr and Mrs Crachit’s house.

Bob Crachit arrived home. He son was called Tiny Tim.

Tiny Tim found it difficult to walk but he was happy.

He was happy to see his father.

Mr and Mrs Crachit had three children. They had a very small Christmas tree because they do not have much money, but were are happy.

Scrooge saw many people enjoying themselves.

Scrooge saw himself as a nasty, old man.

Scrooge was scared of the future. He promised to be good.

Scrooge opened the window and shouted, ‘Merry Christmas,

everyone.’

Scrooge shouted to a boy, ‘Bring me a turkey, I’ll give it to Bob

Crachit.’

Scrooge was happy now. He wasn’t mean anymore. He had

changed.
