SCRIPTURE READING“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the

strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our

struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly

places”. Ephesians 6:10-13

ON COMBAT“If you are in a war, you are a warrior. Is there a war on

drugs? Is there a war on crime? Is there a war against terrorism? Are you confronting and containing aggression as a peace officer at home, a peace keeper in some distant land, or a warrior combating terrorism around the world? Or perhaps you have chosen to be a martial arts practitioner or an armed citizen, seeding to defend yourself or your loved ones in their hour of need? Are there people who wake up every morning determined to send you back to your family in a box?”

“Then you are in a war and you are a warrior.”“There are only two kinds of people once the bullets

start to fly: warriors and victims, those who fight and those who are unprepared, unable or unwilling to defend themselves. Since you pick up this book, I assume that you walk the warrior's path” (Grossman, 2004).

THE HOLY BIBLEthe Great “I AM”The Christian Warrior“All Scripture is given by

inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work”. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

1st Warrior PrincipleNOT FORGETTING COMBAT“For warriors it is essential to keep the spirit of

combat in mind twenty-four hours a day, whether walking, standing still, sitting down, or reclining, never forgetting it”.

“If you are this attentive even at home, how much the more so when you go out”.

“Since you are a professional warrior and wear swords at your side, you should never forget the spirit of combat at any time”.

“A warrior who wears two swords at his side but does not put the spirit of combat into his heart is nothing but a peasant or a merchant wearing the skin of a warrior”.

“Always Mindful”

Watchful, Attentive, PersevereEphesians 6:18 (cx - in warfare)

“praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”.

2 Timothy 4:5 (cx – preaching, warning) “But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions,

do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry”.1 Peter 5:8-10 (cx – resisting the devil)

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world”.

broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life,

COWARDLY KNIGHTS“Wearing away yourself and your life like this is

something that comes from a week and immature mind unable to endure and tolerate

things. This generally reflects the mentality of a cowardly knight.” “Therefore I say that the

courageous and the cowardly can certainly be distinguished in everyday life”.

2ND Warrior PrincipleYOU’RE LIFE IS NOT YOUR OWN

“A warrior who accepts a salary from an overlord for service as a knight cannot fulfill his duties as long as he considers his body and life to be his

own”.“He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his

life for My sake will find it”. Mt 10:39“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but

whoever loses his life for My sake will find it”. Mt 16:25“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but

whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it”. Mk 8:35

2ND Warrior PrincipleYOU’RE LIFE IS NOT YOUR OWN

You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in

warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him

as a soldier. 2 Ti 2:3-5
