What are script kiddies?

Hacker – Slang name given to someone extremely knowledgeable about computers. Pejorative in some circles – but not here.

Cracker – A malicious hacker that is only interested in breaking security to cause damage or for personal gain.

Script Kiddies – Derogatory term used to describe hackers who use programs written by other people without understanding the technical details.

Script Kiddies are often more concerned with the quantity of the systems broken into not the quality or difficulty of the system or security cracked.

Script Kiddies often cause more damage to systems because they may accidentally delete or corrupt files.
