Screen Captures and Write-Up

I have written these cover lines because the list of artists featured inside the magazine is a convention of the genre of magazine, the pull quote adds variety of content and therefore interest to the audience, in relation to their need for surveillance and the user and gratifications theory and the anchorage and cover line summarises interesting content and attracts the audience given its size by comparison to the other cover lines and the pull quote.

The arrangement of these cover lines was chosen because it features what is in the first front cover mock-up I produced, except that they are all placed on the right side of the page, not the left side.

I have chosen this font because when I made an example masthead featuring this font I got quite a lot of good feedback for it as it is bold and makes a statement, this type of font is a convention of rap magazines as it reflects the nature of the industry itself and therefore will appeal to a rap audience.

Initially I decided which photo would be on the cover by looking at the quality of the photo and the pose my model is in and how suitable it was to attract attention from the audience of a rap and hip-hop genre, instead of by looking at the storyboard I said I would choose. I have changed the layout I have used because none of my photos would have worked with my previously chosen layout.

Here I put the masthead on the right because I couldn’t use the third front cover mock-up as I stated in the mock-up write-up. Instead I chose my first layout, but I reversed it so the masthead was on the right not the left.

I have chosen the masthead ‘LIVE’ because it was one of the most popular words used to describe rap and hip-hop in my audience questionnaire.
