How do I collect the scrap metal?

Due to the high volume of traffic and safety risk to our colleagues at the Material Handling Depots (MHD)s, there are strict rules when collecting material.

• The collection vehicle type will be specified on the authorisation, known as a release document.

• The personnel making the collection must provide proof of the release document when requested.

• Any vehicles unable to produce a release document or do not meet the specification will be turned away.

• Only TWO types of vehicles are authorised;

FlatbedBulker

• While on site, all personnel must wear full orange personal protective equipment (PPE) including steel toecap boots, safety helmet, protective glasses and gloves.

• Network Rail personnel will load and direct the vehicle at all times.

• Failure to comply to the above may result in the collection vehicle being turned away.

Please Note:

• We do not authorise collection by car, van or any other vehicle that is not specified in the release document.
