Proclamation - The Assembly, State of New York

Whereas, A Great State is only great as those persons who give exemplary service to their community, whether through participation in voluntary programs, through unique personal achievement in their professional or other endeavors or simply through a lifetime of good citizenry; and

Whereas, Such service, which is truly the lifeblood of the community and the State, too often goes unrecognized and unrewarded; and

Whereas, The State of New York deems it of the utmost importance to recognize entrepreneurial endeavors committed to helping the community, especially in a time of need; and

Whereas, Scott O. Talbot has demonstrated the ability to utilize his business skill and experience in furtherance of philanthropy causes; and

Whereas, Mr. Talbot has used this business acumen to create socially responsible ventures to benefit the not-for-profit community; and

Whereas, He has also served his community as a member of Manhattan’s Community Board Six; and

Whereas, His leadership and vision in the arena of non-profit work has led to greater opportunities for companies to expose the public to their causes; and

Whereas, The State of New York will be saddened to lose a valuable community activist when Scott O. Talbot returns to his native Australia; now therefore be it

Resolved, that as a duly elected Member of the State Assembly of New York, I recognize Scott O. Talbot, we have an outstanding citizen, one who is worthy of the esteem of both community and the Great State of New York for his immeasurable service to the cause of non-profits and his outstanding achievements.

Proclamation - The Council, City of New York

Whereas: the Council of the City of New York is proud to honor Scott O. Talbot for his outstanding contributions to his adopted home of New York City.

Whereas: As the founder and chairman of Charity Group, LLC Mr. Talbot has used the marketing skills that he honed in business to expand his philanthropy into exciting new frontiers, including the development of an online tool to strengthen the connections and coordination between non-profit groups and major corporate donors; and CharityChex, an initiative that allows retails consumers to make donations to the charities of their choice at the point of sale; and

Whereas: Working with local elected officials and Community Board 6, on which he served dutifully, he has sought to improve the response times of emergency paramedics by developing a pilot program for motor cycle paramedics; and

Whereas: Mr. Talbot has provided New York City with eight years of visionary community leadership, insightful business acumen and loyal support to many non-profit institutions and. Although we are saddened that he is returning to Australia, we know his extraordinary contributions will continue to resonate throughout our community for years to come; now, therefore
