Since last season our Ski Team have been beavering away to bring you some exciting new additions to our

ski programme. This winter we are launching Scott Dunn at Six Senses Residences Courchevel, a collection of

luxurious self-catered apartments that have the benefit of staff on hand to stock your fridge and arrange things

like a bakery delivery each morning, ski passes and housekeeping. On top of this, there will be a Scott Dunn Explorers kids club on site, offering daytime and evening

childcare, an indulgent Six Senses Spa with an indoor pool and a driver service within 1850. For chalet guests we also

have something really novel. Our new culinary offering, called ‘Flying Chefs’ allows you to choose from a line-up of high profile chefs - Monica Galetti, Pierre Koffmann,

Alyn Williams, Andrew Wong, Sat Bains and Mauro Colagreco - to fly out to your chalet and cook a private

dinner party for you. It’s perfect for a special celebration.

Andrew Dunn started Scott Dunn back in 1986, with two chalets in Clairs Matin and Coccinelle in Champéry. Since then our chalet offering has expanded and we now have 20 chalets spread across Courchevel, Val d’Isère and St. Anton. Our hotel collection has also grown significantly over the years to include, not only the Alps but also, the Dolomites and Baqueira in the Spanish Pyrenees. Further afield, we first went across the pond back in 1991 with hotels in Jackson Hole and we now cover both sides of Canada, the USA, Chile, New Zealand and Japan. Each destination offers something a bit different and our Ski Consultants can point you in the right direction for what you are after.

OUR SKI PROGRAMME

With over 30 years’ experience under our belt you can trust us to deliver an exceptional ski holiday.

Page 9: Scott Dunn ski brochure

7

There is something really special about the mountains; the sense of space, fresh air and sheer beauty. And there is something really special about a skiing holiday; the thrill of flying down a run, long lazy lunches on a sunny terrace and relaxing at the end of the day by a roaring log fire, rosy cheeked from a day on the slopes. There are lots of ways to do a skiing holiday, be it a fully-staffed chalet, a self-catered apartment, a hotel, a log cabin, heli-skiing or even combining with a city break or time on the beach. It depends what will work best for you.

Our chalets range in style from small and cosy to some of the most magnificent and decadent chalets in the Alps, all offer our renowned service and are set in Val d’Isère, Courchevel and St. Anton. Guests after a little more flexibility in these resorts can choose from our new apartments, Scott Dunn at Six Senses Residences Courchevel, or from our hand-picked selection of hotels and still benefit from extra support from our exclusive resort teams and Scott Dunn childcare.

Beyond our three core resorts, there is so much choice with our collection of hotels across Europe, the Americas and beyond. All can be twinned with other types of holiday, like an adventure into the jungle, enjoying the city lights or kicking back on a sun lounger. It’s our ability to create unique, personalised experiences which makes our holidays a cut above the rest.

EXPLORERS KIDS CLUBS

So our guests can enjoy a full day on the slopes, we operate our Scott Dunn Explorers clubs 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week in Val d’Isère and at the brand new Scott Dunn at Six Senses Residences Courchevel. Both are available for kids from 4 months to 13 years. The club at the Residences is also offering Stargazers, where your little ones can be looked after between 7.30pm – 10.30pm, meaning grown-ups can head out for dinner. Over at the Portetta in Courchevel 1650, we have our Mini Explorers club (9am to 5pm, 6 days a week) for children aged 4 months to 7 years, which is exclusively for Scott Dunn guests staying at the hotel. At all three clubs, children are split into age groups and are looked after by fully qualified nannies. From making snowglobes and glitter pictures to penguin models and winter monsters, there’s a chance to be thoroughly creative. When the weather is good, the adventures continue outside with snow angels, tobogganing, a bubble ride to the top of the mountain or perhaps a visit to a local farm. We follow our smallest guests’ routines, making sure they have their afternoon snooze in the dedicated sleep rooms and provide a nutritious lunch for everyone.

For a closer look, please visit: scottdunn.com/winternannies or call 020 8682 5050

PRIVATE NANNIES

If you prefer the idea of a private nanny, our team of carefully selected, UK-qualified nannies provide a welcome extra pair of hands. They will help your children get ready for the day ahead, take older ones to ski school and fill each day with snowy adventures and lots of fun. We offer flexible hours to suit your family and are available for eight hours each day between 8am and 8pm (split into a maximum of two shifts).

14

“It’s up to you what you want to eat, from multiple courses of gourmet food to

a simple lasagne and salad, just let us know

what you want.”CARA COMBELLACK, PRODUCT EXECUTIVE

We love food and understand that it’s an integral part of the ski holiday experience. Each year we listen to our guests’ feedback and refine our chalet dining to ensure we provide an all-encompassing offering. For some, this could be beautiful, gourmet meals each night allowing the chef to showcase their love of food using locally sourced ingredients while for others it may be more of a laid back affair: delicious curry on the sofa in front of a movie perhaps or even just a good old homemade lasagne. Flexibility is key - after all it’s your holiday, so if you want to make the most of the après and have a lighter, more casual supper a bit later - we’ll make it happen.

Page 17: Scott Dunn ski brochure

15

For a closer look, please visit: scottdunn.com/chaletfood or call 020 8682 5050

We avoid being too prescriptive about our food as we aim to craft your dining experience around you. Your chalet team will call you before your holiday to chat about your likes and dislikes, so that they can really think about perfecting the menu for your week with us.

MONICA GALETTI PIERRE KOFFMANN

Page 19: Scott Dunn ski brochure

17

This winter, we have a new culinary offering called ‘Flying Chefs’, that gives our chalet guests the opportunity to choose from a line-up of high profile chefs, who will fly out to your chalet and cook a private dinner party for you. Guests can choose from one of six highly-acclaimed and revered culinary talents - Monica Galetti, Pierre Koffmann, Alyn Williams, Andrew Wong, Sat Bains and Mauro Colagreco. With respect to the distinct culinary style and identity of each Flying Chef, the experience will be

completely tailored to you, making this a hugely bespoke and decadent dining experience. It is the ultimate way for Scott Dunn guests to celebrate a special occasion, entertain clients or friends or purely enjoy the unique opportunity to watch a top chef close at work, ask some burning questions over a glass of wine and perhaps even receive a short kitchen masterclass. Prices start from £14,000, which includes one lunch or dinner for 8-12 guests.

Since the creation of Scott Dunn, Andrew has been personally involved in making sure that everything we do is of the highest quality, which includes offering only the finest food and wine to our guests. Every year, each wine is tasted and evaluated by this group, the culmination of which is a fine wine menu of superb quality and diversity.

SIPSMITH

Pioneers of the gin revival, Sipsmith was London’s first copper pot distillery for nearly two hundred years, opening its doors in 2009 on a mission to bring back London Dry Gin to the city where it made its name. All Sipsmith spirits are made by hand and in small batches, driven by the belief that this is the only way to craft spirits of such high quality. Sipsmith is served in all of our chalets.

LAURENT-PERRIER

There is nothing more spoiling after a day on the slopes than relaxing by a log fire with a chilled glass of Champagne. Laurent-Perrier Champagnes are deliciously fresh and easy to drink, so the obvious choice for us to serve our chalet guests.

CHRISTMAS IN THE MOUNTAINSThere is nowhere more magical for an unforgettable white Christmas

than one of our chalets, where your chef will prepare a delicious festive treat. Best of all, there’s no washing up.

CHRISTMAS WITH SCOTT DUNN

Make Christmas truly magical by spending it in one of our chalets. Our aim is to re-create how you would do Christmas at home with an Alpine setting and a white snowy backdrop. You tell us what you like, what your family traditions are, what makes your Christmas Day special and we’ll make it happen. The atmosphere in the resorts is truly buzzing with Santa processions, fireworks, skiing shows, music and markets. Your chalet is decorated beautifully and little ones are encouraged to decorate more. Your Private Chef will cook up your dream Christmas meal, be it turkey, goose, duck or seafood. There’ll be cocktails, Christmas pudding, a visit from Santa (if you’ve been good), crackers and lots of treats and surprises. All you have to do is sit back, relax and forget about the washing up.

For more information, please visit scottdunn.com/skiweekends or scottdunn.com/sharedchalets or call 020 8682 5050

Our Ski Weekends are designed to maximise your time on the slopes with only minimal time out of the office. They run Thursday to Sunday and are ideal for those who love the chalet experience but can only get away for a long weekend or don’t want to take a full week’s holiday.

Nearly every week of the season, we also have chalets available to book by the room in Val d’Isère and St. Anton. Shared chalets are a great solution if you do not have a large enough group to fill a whole chalet. It can also

be a great way to meet other skiers, which is particularly helpful if you are travelling with skiers of differing standards. And don’t worry about privacy, we know how important it is and only select properties that lend themselves to shared bookings; with lots of space and bedrooms big enough that you can relax in.

These options mean everyone can still enjoy the benefits of being in a chalet - a home-from-home with half board, wine and all the little extras that make chalets great value.

SKI WEEKENDS & SHARED CHALETS

For those who only have a few days spare or are too small a group to fill a chalet, our Ski Weekends and shared chalets mean

you can still enjoy the chalet experience.

OUR EXPLORERS KIDS CLUB IN VAL

Relax and enjoy the slopes safe in the knowledge that your children are having the time of their lives.

“Our new Ski Explorers is the perfect introduction to skiing for little ones.”

KIRSTY EDWARDS, SKI PRODUCT MANAGER

Our Val d’Isère club is set in a fabulous, purpose-built facility, with lots of space and brimming with toys, games and books. Located in the centre of the resort, it is perfectly placed for all our chalet and hotel guests, who have exclusive access to the club. We also operate a nanny driver service to pick up and drop off younger guests, to make parents’ lives even easier. Many children will be having lessons, so we can also pick them up from ski school and bring them back to the kids club for the afternoon. Each day is filled with fun and stimulating activities, often with a theme. When the weather is good, we venture outside for some exploring in the snow or sledging and older ones might go ice skating. For some down time, there’s a dedicated sleep room for our youngest guests and a chill-out room for the older children. To keep everyone fuelled, our nannies prepare home cooked, heart-warming lunches each day and can cater for any individual tastes and allergies your child may have.

This season, our new Ski Explorers sessions gives 3 and 4 year olds the chance to enjoy their first experience on skis. It’s part of the Explorers programme and the perfect introduction for little ones, with the emphasis very much on having fun on the slopes.

CHIC COURCHEVEL

As part of the biggest interconnected ski area in the world, there are so many fantastic slopes to explore and the freedom to pop over to Méribel,

Val Thorens or the charming St Martin de Belleville for lunch.

Page 63: Scott Dunn ski brochure

61

“IN THE HEART OF THE THREE VALLEYS, COURCHEVEL HAS AN ABUNDANCE OF WELL-GROOMED PISTES, GORGEOUS MOUNTAIN RESTAURANTS AND BREATHTAKING VIEWS, MAKING IT A SHEER JOY TO SKI. FOR US, COURCHEVEL IS SKIING HEAVEN AND THE VARIED TERRAIN MEANS YOU CAN FIND SLOPES AS EASY OR CHALLENGING AS YOU WANT.”

THE SKIING A skier’s dream. Easy runs close to the village, steeper runs and plenty of off-piste terrain further up the mountain plus a wealth of confidence-boosting blue and red runs make the resort area great for skiers of all levels. With such a wealth of pistes there’s always a hidden gem to head to when the slopes get busier during the holidays.

ALTITUDE - BASE TO SUMMIT 1850m - 2738m.

SKIABLE AREA Three Valleys 600km including Méribel and Val Thorens.

BEST RUN Chapelets - feels as if you’ve escaped the pistes, the scenery is stunning and if you head here early in the day, the snow is heavenly.

EATING & THE APRÈS Although Courchevel is home to an impressive eleven Michelin stars, there are plenty of other gems including Le Chabotté (at Le Chabichou) which serves a great bistro-style menu at lunch. Our top pick on the slopes is La Cave des Creux, perched at 2112m, run by two local ski instructors serving delicious food, with a gentle ski back to the resort. Après is lively and fun, we like to head to Cap Horn where a DJ plays in a piste basher!

THE DUNN THING Opt for the Plantrey chairlift first thing in the morning - you’ll rarely have to queue and the run down is a wonderful, fast blue - great for warming up the legs.

FAMILY Courchevel is superb for families on all fronts. Easy, gentle slopes leading back to the resort centre make it a paradise for little ones learning to ski and there’s a superb toboggan run from 1850 to 1550 for thrillseekers.

THE SKIING There’s some pretty serious terrain in St. Anton, which puts it up there as one of the world’s best ski destinations. Hardcore skiers will be in total heaven but there’s also plenty to keep the more leisurely skier occupied with some lovely long descents. It’s well worth heading over to Lech and Zurs to really get the most out of this extensive ski area.

ALTITUDE 1340m - 2811m.

SKIABLE AREA Ski Arlberg - 280km including Lech, Zurs and St Christoph.

BEST RUN Over 1000m of exhilarating and thigh burning descent from the top of Valluga to Alpe Rauz. Red 14 into Blue 17 is a non-stop carving thriller and will quite literally leave you breathless.

Our favourites include the Rodel-Alm (order the Schweinshaxe) and of course the Hospiz Alm in St Christoph with its incredible wine cellar. For après it has to be the Krazy Kanguruh or the legendary Mooserwirt - prepare to dance in your ski boots.

THE DUNN THING The Rendl area is often quieter, with some great skiing for both intermediates and some epic off-piste. When the sun’s out head to Rendl Beach and grab a cold beer and catch some rays from the comfort of a deckchair.

NORTH AMERICA

Page 121: Scott Dunn ski brochure

119

We have travelled all over the USA and Canada seeking the most breathtaking skiing, the most stylish hotels and private lodges with faultless service and the ultimate experiences to create your perfect North American ski holiday. There is so much to offer to both skiers and snowboarders across the pond, whatever their standard, and we have an extensive programme in both the US and Canada because the ski experience is so different in each place. The snow record speaks for itself and for most, this alone is a good enough reason to go. The enthusiasm and dedication to service by the Americans and Canadians also make going there such a pleasure. English-speaking ski instructors will make your day, lift queues are minimal and the ski runs are prepared with a fanaticism that borders on obsession. Above all though, skiing here is friendly and everyone you encounter, from your fellow chairlift passengers to your waiter, genuinely wants you to have a great stay.

The resorts of Portillo and Valle Nevado are both just a few hours’ drive from Santiago airport and with the direct British Airways flight to Santiago, reaching these beautiful resorts in the majestic Andes is relatively easy. In Portillo, Hotel Portillo is ideal for families, there’s a cinema and games room, an outdoor pool and childcare and children’s ski lessons are available. In Valle Nevado we recommend staying at Valle Nevado or Puerta del Sol, the resort is great for guests who want to ski a big area, as there are three resorts which link together and there’s a good selection of mountain restaurants. The season runs from June to September with July and August being the best months, but it’s best to avoid the Chilean school holidays which run for two weeks in mid-July. For those looking to combine time on the slopes with something else, the Andes can be combined with Brazil if you want to hit the beach or the Atacama Desert for some adventure.

We have carefully selected our heli-ski partners to focus on those who offer small groups.
