Transcript of Scotland's 2020 Climate Group introduction, ECCI Carbon Chat Room event, Jun 10th
Working together to deliver a low carbon
future for Scotland through smarter
collaborations and better conversations
Formed in 2009
Supported by the Scottish Government
Purpose is to ensure that all sectors of
Scotland’s economy and civic society
contribute fully to achieving Scotland’s
ambitious climate change targets
@2020ClimateGrp
Climate change and delivering an economy based on securing sustainable energy sources are twin challenges for Scotland’s environment, economy and people.
Government alone cannot hope to tackle these challenges. The 2020 Group has come from; a view that those key people in Scotland who are in a position to contribute or influence action should work together.
@2020ClimateGrp
The Group encourages greater collaboration and shared best practice between Scottish organisations and businesses.
Scotland has a target of 42% carbon reduction by 2020.
