The British Isles are a group of islands off the northwestern coast of Europe.
The British Isles include two main islands, Great Britain and Ireland; the Isle of Man; the Hebrides; the Orkney Islands; the Shetland Islands; and many smaller islands off their coasts.

Scotland borders England to the south. The Atlantic Ocean borders the west coast and the North Sea is to the east.The island of Ireland is only 30 kilometres from the southern part of Kintyre.Norway is 305 km. to the east and the Faroes, 270 km. to the north.

Highland Games I
Highland games take place throughout Scotland between May and September. generally include the following events: throwing the hammer, tossing the caber, putting the shot, tug o’ war, athletics/track and field events and dancing and piping competitions.
