On the basis of experimental measurements, regression models were created for conveyor belts with and without the supporting system. Created models describe the process of dynamic impact loading of the conveyor belt when the material falls down onto the conveyor belt in the idle regime. The main objective of the paper is to present the mathematical and statistical approaches to the conveyor belt quality assessment in terms of their impact resistance. The paper points out the possible uses of regression models in practice in order to identify the basic technical parameters of transfer points in the operational conditions, such as the drop height, falling material weight, and the supporting system. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. AbstractThe paper presents the results of experimental and regression analysis of dynamic effects and reactions in the systemconsisting of a conveyor belt and a supporting system with idlers and a conveyor belt without a supporting system. On thebasis of experimental measurements, regression models were created for conveyor belts with and without the supportingsystem. Created models describe the process of dynamic impact loading of the conveyor belt when the material falls downonto the conveyor belt in the idle regime. The main objective of the paper is to present the mathematical and statisticalapproaches to the conveyor belt quality assessment in terms of their impact resistance. AbstractThe paper deals with the identification of the factors that cause damages of conveyor belts at coal quarry. On the base ofstatistical processing of the data obtained from 4 open-pit mining sectors the most important factors causing time-outs areidentified. The cause-effect relation is demonstrated on the example of bipartite graph where the higher valence of eachout-vertex signalizes the greater im-portantce of the considered factor to cause shatter effects. In order to avert the negativeeffects, break-downs and increase the reliability of conveyor belts a monitoring system for these belts is proposed. © (2014)Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

AbstractIn the last years, belt conveyors belong to the most frequently used means of transport in various industries. The mostimportant component of the belt conveyor is the conveyor belt. Therefore, it is necessary to pay more attention also tooptimal lifetime of conveyor belts. Conveyor belt lifetime is a very complicated issue. It is affected by plenty of factors,including above all the quality structure of the belt conveyor, optimal construction, production, and properties of the conveyorbelt as such, adequate solution of conveyance route shifting, reasonable maintenance, and quality repairs of conveyor belts.The paper deals with the exploring the lifetime of conveyor belts depending from on some selected parameters obtained fromthe operating records of practice (thickness of paint layer, width and length of the belt, conveyor speed and quantity oftransported material) with using appropriate mathematical - statistical methods. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications,Switzerland.

AbstractBelt conveyance belongs to the continual transport systems characteristic with high-level conveying performances. Beltconveyors are of significant importance in the transportation of various types of materials in the industries like engineering,metallurgy and construction. The fundamental and the most expensive component of belt conveyors is the conveyor beltwhich is, during the operation on the belt conveyor, exposed to number of various loads that evoke the process of conveyorbelt wear and damage. Lifetime of conveyor belts, which is the determining parameter for the belt conveyance economy andefficiency, is very important for the practice. Issues regarding the conveyor belt lifetime should be solved applying also themethods of operation analysis, especially the linear programming and the renewal theory that uses the theory of probabilityand mathematic statistics. The objective of our research was to determine the optimal lifetime (optimal performance duration)of a belt conveyor, applying the renewal theory, whereas the research was based on the cost approach of the renewalprocess. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

AbstractThe paper deals with the classical linear regression model of the dependence of conveyor belt life on some selectedparameters: thickness of paint layer, width and length of the belt, conveyor speed and quantity of transported material. Thefirst part of the article is about regression model design, point and interval estimation of parameters, verification of statisticalsignificance of the model, and about the parameters of the proposed regression model. The second part of the article dealswith identification of influential and extreme values that can have an impact on estimation of regression model parameters.The third part focuses on assumptions of the classical regression model, i.e. on verification of independence assumptions,normality and homoscedasticity of residuals.

AbstractThe analysis of microarray data is fundamental to microbiology. Although clustering has long been realized as central to thediscovery of gene functions and disease diagnostic, researchers have found the construction of good algorithms asurprisingly difficult task. In this paper, we address this problem by using a component-based approach for clusteringalgorithm design, for class retrieval from microarray data. The idea is to break up existing algorithms into independentbuilding blocks for typical sub-problems, which are in turn reassembled in new ways to generate yet unexplored methods. Asa test, 432 algorithms were generated and evaluated on published microarray data sets. We found their top performers to bebetter than the original, component-providing ancestors and also competitive with a set of new algorithms recently proposed.Finally, we identified components that showed consistently good performance for clustering microarray data and that shouldbe considered in further development of clustering algorithms. © 2012 Springer-Verlag London Limited.

The first partanalyzes selected parameters (variables) of conveyor belts through the method of principal components analysis (PCA). AbstractMeasuring and assessing of logistics performance are considered company operations and activities to be providedespecially objectively, timely, precise information about the different logistics processes, so that the logistics processes canbe under control in order to specified fulfilment targets and logistics requirements. The performance of the logistics processdirectly influences overall performance of the logistics company and measure and evaluate the performance of the logisticssystem of the company should gradually become part of management and of logistics performance should be measuredconstantly. Company manager in collaboration with the logistics department or controlling department should formulate theirdecisions based on timely, accurate, objective and complete information. It depends on these quality received managementdecisions and the future of the company as such. That analysis and related performance evaluation of logistics system obtainthis type of information. Thanks to these we can evaluate past, present and expected future performance of companylogistics system. The future of company is also related to today's rapidly changing business environment. For company isvery difficult to maintain long-term competitive advantage that it guarantees a higher efficiency. For its sustainability thereforenot enough efforts to its permanent increase and it is essential to monitoring, continuous evaluation. Procurement logistics isan integral part of company logistics. Procurement filling can be characterized by a series of interrelated functions thatrequire the information equipment and use of a large number of synthetic and analytical methods that are used to create aprocurement tools, to its control, standardization and under.

AbstractTraditional methods and approaches to the evaluation of company performance are fundamental deficiencies in the fact thatprovide only a retrospective view of the company's competitive position that existed at some point in the past. Theseanalyses are both static and outdated, but in addition also incomplete. Traditional financial indicators do not tell anything,why the overall results are as they are, or that the companýs areas must be improve in order to company closer to fulfilmentits own strategic objectives. Therefore it is necessary to complement classical financial indicators of a series of moredynamic, non-financial indicators, adapted to specific conditions of competition. At present implementing new approaches tothe evaluation company performance, which do in the traditional system, but it added of other aspects. The modern methodscompany management is possible to imagine that we are talking about the logistics approach to managing a company wherecompany can be understood as a system of flows (information, material and financial) and chains (purchase - production -sale and the resulting triads logistics processes) is an attempt evaluate the performance of the company, i.e. performance ofthe company logistics system using non-financial indicators. The modern method of evaluation company logisticsperformance is based on the assumption that the company is efficient if they are able to achieve predefined strategic goals.

AbstractThe article deals with the determination of optimal construction of conveyor belts as a basic hoisting and supporting elementsof continually working transport devices. By utilization of multi-criterion decision methods it will be defined the weight of maincriteria important for the selection of conveyor belts - Steelbelt, Transbelt, Ecotubelt from the technical, energy, economic,ecological and ergonomic aspect.
