We would like to say a BIG thank you to Kate Palmer for all her assistance to make the day run so smoothly. Congratulations to everyone who qualified for their positive behaviour and attendance for the last five weeks. SCHOOL REPORTS Our School Reports were handed out to students on Monday afternoon. I was full of pride as I saw our Stage Three students dance for our school community, parents and special guests. They confidently joined the Gomeroi Dance Group and encouraged students and preschool children to join together in dance. Meckenzie, Jack, Mathew and Cooper did an amazing job running our assembly, showing their great leadership skills. Each and every student participated in the cultural dance and didgeridoo workshops and played traditional Aboriginal games. We would like to thank our special guests; The Gomeroi Dance Group, Richie and Sue Lawton, Jacob Ellis from the OCHRE Opportunity Hub, UHSC Councillor James Burns, AECG President Raylene Price, AECG Secretary Melisa Powell and AECG Treasurer Rhonda Griffiths. It truly was a great day celebrating our rich Aboriginal culture thanks to the organisation of our Aboriginal Education Team. As we enter the last week of term and stop to reflect on the student progress achieved I am heartened to see the number of students who have listened to their teacher’s feedback and guidance. Students who make the most progress take every opportunity offered to them and dial up their bravery to persist when learning seems challenging. I have enjoyed reading the semester one reports and encourage all students to spend time over the holidays setting learning goals ready to continue their learning progress at the start of Term Three. Have a wonderful and safe holiday and we will see everyone when they return on Tuesday 23 July. MULTICULTURAL PERSPECTIVES PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION

Yesterday, Hallie and Eloise travelled to Maitland East Public School to participate in the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition. Both girls had to present a prepared speech based on a list of Stage Three topics. They spoke eloquently on being global citizens. This competition also requires each speaker to deliver an impromptu speech. The topic was “Dirt”. Neither Hallie nor Eloise gained a top three place, but we are very proud of their efforts. We thank both girls for their commitment to public speaking, volunteering to participate in this competition and preparing so thoroughly for it. We also thank their parents who transported their daughters to the venue.
