The mood at SCMS Campus was apt to match the convocation ceremony. The frame of mind among the students was visibly upbeat. st The 21 Annual Convocation of the PGDM programme of SCMS was held as a colourful glittering ceremony at the Prathap Nagar campus, Kalamassery on April 29, Tuesday. was the chief guest on the occasion. He presented diploma certificates to the batch 21 PGDM students of SCMS COCHIN School of Business. As many as 168 students were graduated on the occasion. Mr. Mohan Sivanand, Editor – at - Large, Readers Digest, India Ltd “One of the most critical requirements to become a successful professional is to be very careful in serving your co-workers and preserving your relationships” said, in his convocation address to the outgoing students. Business organizations are becoming more and more system-based and rule-based with growing modernization. Consequently, personalized approaches and relations are becoming progressively uncommon. This is going to be a serious challenge to the new generation of managers added. Dr.G.P.C.Nayar, Chairman, SCMS Group presided over the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nayar, stressed on the need for improving quality of our professional education on a continuous basis in order to make it comparable to world standards. Later the paper has been nd selected (2 position) for publishing in Elsevier Scopus indexed international journal ''Applied Mechanics and Materials'' by Scientific.net, Material science and engineering of Trans tech publications, Switzerland. A research paper titled ''Modelling the Influence of Job Stress on Musculoskeletal Disorders in Process Industries in India'' authored by Dr. Praveensal C. J., Professor-Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Balagopal G. Menon, Associate Professor- Mechanical Engineering and Dr. G. Madhu, Dean, College of nd Engineering, CUSAT is accepted for the 32 International Conference of the System Dynamics Society to be held between July 20 to 24 at Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. A., fourth semester Mechanical Engineering student participated in the Workshop on Startup Bootcamp titled “We Believe” held at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam on March 15. Visiting Foreign Faculty Reflections and reminiscences Our journey of life in SCMS School of Engineering and Technology was actually a transformation from the basic Newton's laws of motion to the advanced principles of gas dynamics and jet propulsion Pascal's law to computational fluid dynamics and Bhor's model of atom to nanotechnology. Never in our lives could we imagine that the four years of living could forge us to this level of science and technology. Industrial visits, inplant training, seminars, orientation classes, cultural and technical mega shows, social services, and lots and lots of exposure to technology-SSET had been an impetus for us to drive technology towards the social development and then self realization through them. The IEDC of the college encourages students to do innovative projects and I have completed a project under the guidance of this centre which is pending for patent. Through the determination which SSET has power packed in us through its vibrant class rooms, we are destined to take charge and drive the nation ahead, like never before. Anugrah A. The assignments taught us all lessons of punctuality, lab works opened to me the extraordinary world of science, the micro to macro project works taught us perseverance and management besides opening the gates to experiencing 'engineering,' and every other small thing which built an understanding, hopeful, caring and leader person out of me. I can write on and on and yet will not feel satisfied enough to thank SCMS for choosing me for working days and nights out to carve an 'Engineer' out of me! During the final year, we had an excellent campus recruitment season which helped me land a job with Infosys Limited along with my 40 friends. I sincerely wish every student who gets blessed with the opportunity to study in this college, utilize all the chances presented to them and imbibe in them the important lessons to become a better engineer and more than that a better 'person', given by this wonderful institution.     as special guests and speakers at

    the Annual Meeting of German

    Water Partnership (GWP) to be

    held at Berlin on 24th of June 2014. The delegation from SCMS is

    invited in order to make presentations and to share the experience

    of CSWTM in coming out with the idea of how to develop a Water

    SCMS Delegates to visit Berlin Policy for a local self government. GWP is a consortium of 350 members working on water technology in Germany. This include

    government departments, universities and scientific institutions

    and public and private sector companies functioning in Germany.

    GWP is financed by the six different ministries of the Federal

    Republic of Germany. The main objective of GWP is to make the

    outstanding German engineering know how and experience be of

    use for solving the water related problems all over the world. The

    delegation from SCMS will make discussions with H. E. Mr Vijay

    Gokhale, Indian Ambassador to Germany, officials from the

    German Federal Ministry for Environment and with various

    universities and water technology companies.
