Scheduling is the pattern in which the media programs are arranged and presented to the audience watching.

WHO ARE THE TARGET AUDIENCES FOR EACH SEGMENT?
The target audiences are :
•Breakfast- Working middle age people and young children.•Lunchtime/Daytime- Older and retired people, the employed and students.•Children’s TV- Young children.•Primetime- Families and teens.•Post watershed- Teens and young adults
WHAT ARE THE MOST POPULAR GENRES IN THESE
SEGMENTS ?The most popular are : •Kid’s shows•Reality TV•Comedy and sit-coms•Drama’s•Soaps•Game shows
WHAT IS THE TARGETAUDIENCE FOR THE
TERRESTRIAL CHANNELS ?
The target audiences are :
•BBC1 - Everyone- shows for all genres and target audiences.•BBC2- Intellectuals- Eggheads and weakest link.•ITV 1- Working class and young adults- coronation street and midsummer murders.•Channel 4- Teen's and young adults- Hollyoaks and rude tube.•Channel 5- Everyone-Mix of all types such as ok TV and Royal Navy; Submarine mission.
WHAT PERCENTAGE OF THE SHOWS ARE REPEATS?
The percentage is:
•BBC1-38 shows- 3 repeats= 8%•BBC2-44 shows-2 repeats=4.5%•IVT1-26 shows-2 repeats=7.7%•Channel 4-21 shows-2 repeats=7.1%•Channel 5-42 shows- 1 repeat=2.3%
WHAT IS WATERSHED ?
Watershed is when less censored programmes and content are allowed to be shown on T.V . This happens at 9 o’clock. After this they can show what the want.
WHY DO CHANNEL'S 4 AND 5IMPORT MORE SHOWS?
It is cheaper to import shows then to make them.As BBC are funded by the public and ITV by advertisement.
HAMMOCKINGThe strategic placement of a program between two other programs. Positioning a new series between two well known shows that appeal to the same target audiences often gives the right viewers the opportunity to sample the new series.
PRE ECHOProgram placed to schedule to come before a popular program.
INHERITANCEProgram placed after a successful program in hopes of inheriting some of it’s audiences.
