Schoolgram February 14, 2019 Prayer Intentions: Mrs. Brennan’s sister in law who is ill and awaiting an organ transplant. For all organ donors and their families. We Pray: Lord: In the midst of Winter, when the days are cold and wind can pierce remind us of the warmth of your love. In the midst of Winter, when days are short, dawn comes late, and dusk arrives early remind us that in the darkness your light still shines. In the midst of Winter, when the flowers of spring still lie hidden in the earth, when leaves are off the trees, and the world can seem bleak remind us that Easter is but a short time away. And when in our lives we feel as if we are experiencing a season of winter, reach out to us with the power of your resurrection so that we may feel the warmth of your love and see your light that alone can take away the darkness of our soul. Amen. From the Principal: Winter in Northwest Ohio certainly keeps things interesting, but we are hopeful we can get back into a good routine without too many more interruptions! As I shared last week Mrs. Hinz and her husband welcomed their son on February 6th. Now I can share his name, Memphis Archie, and his correct stats of 8 lbs. 7 oz and 20 and a half inches long. Ms. Steinman is doing a great job with KR while Mrs. Hinz is on her maternity leave and we continue to pray for baby Memphis and his family! We are up to 50 parents who have filled in our school improvement survey. It’s not too late to help me reach our goal of 90 completed surveys! We have had a wonderful partnership with George’s Catering to provide our hot lunches for a number of years now. Since George and Lisa Loper moved out of state, it’s been more difficult for them to manage the business from a distance so they have decided to sell it to a trusted friend and experienced caterer. Our lunch program is now run by Chef Moreno who is based in Carey, Ohio, but Mrs. Kris McKenzie is still our cook and managing the day to day here at school. It won’t look very different to parents or students, but we wanted to make everyone aware and thank the Lopers for taking such good care of us for so long. Welcome, Chef Moreno!
