School Uniform ExpectationsParents may find it helpful to read through a copy of the rules regarding uniform as set out in the School Diary.

Girls must be correctly dressed and must see that their uniforms are clean and pressed and their shoes polished. Jumpers without blazers may not be worn in the street and public places. Nail polish is unacceptable with the school uniform. Secondary School girls may wear one pair of small, simple, gold or silver stud earrings. There is to be only one stud worn in each ear lobe and in no other part of the ear. This is the only jewellery allowed. School and House Badges must be worn correctly. “Unsuitable” or coloured hair styles are not permitted. Correct school uniform is to be worn to and from school, and during school time, every day.

Summer • Tunic (summer weight). Length - Tunic hem to touch top of knee • Short sleeved blouse • Black lace-up regulation school shoes which must be kept clean and polished (K-2 to wear Mary Jane style buckled shoes with Velcro close) • Navy short socks, to be worn turned over, with summer uniform • School and House badges are to be worn in summer on the tunic. School badge only may be worn in the centre front of the uniform. All other badges should be worn under the House badge in the upper left panel. • Blazer or school cardigan may be worn as necessary in the street or public places • Jumpers may not be worn as the outer garment in the street or public places

Winter • Tunic - winter weight (K-12 trousers optional) Length - Tunic hem to touch top of knee • Long sleeved shirt and tie (K-2 do not wear tie) • Black lace up regulation school shoes which must be kept clean and polished (K-2 to wear Mary Jane style buckled shoes with Velcro close) • Navy long socks (K-12) or navy stockings (Years 3-12) • School and House badges are to be worn in winter on the tunic (as for summer) • Blazer or school cardigan may be worn as necessary in the street or public places • Jumpers may not be worn as the outer garment in the street or public places

Hair • Hair longer than collar length must be plaited, tied back or tied in two bunches with plain navy blue ribbons 2.5cm in width • If rubber bands or elastic are used these must be covered by ribbons • Navy scrunchies or headbands obtainable from the School Shop are also permitted, as are plain bobby pins • Navy blue clips are permitted in the Primary School • Dyed hair and “unsuitable” hairstyles are not permitted

Sun Hats • All girls in the Primary School must wear regulation sun hats at recess, lunchtime and for PE

PE Uniform • Full PE uniform consists of: - School Sports shirt - School Sports shorts - School PE socks and sports shoes - School PE cap or sun hat The SCEGGS tracksuit and tights are optional.

• Girls should not come to school in PE uniform • PE uniform is not to be worn to Chapel or Assembly. Girls should change into and out of PE at appropriate times such as before and after school, recess and lunch • Girls may travel home in full PE uniform after a training practice in the afternoon only if they are passed by PE Staff in attendance • Certain Representative Sports have sport specific uniform requirements as outlined on an accompanying page.

School Shop Information

DAYS OPEN: Monday to Friday during term time and all of January before the commencement of Term 1.

TIME: 8.00am – 3.30pm. Closed for lunch 12.00pm - 12.40pm

PLACE: The first doorway on the right after entering through the Green Gate.

STATIONERY: All School stationery requirements are sold in the Shop.

SCHOOL UNIFORM: School Uniform is ONLY available at the Shop.

CLOTHING POOL: The Shop sells second hand school clothing. Not all sizes are always available.

FIT-OUT: New families are encouraged to make an appointment with Clare Reid in the School Shop for a fit-out of the full uniform. This takes about 30-45 minutes. Please contact Clare to make a time. Phone: 9332 1133 or email [email protected]
