From the Principal
Hooray! It will be great to see you all and hear the joy of
children’s laughter in the school grounds again. With the recent
news that Victorian schools will be able to re-open, we are
doing everything possible to make this return a welcoming, safe
and happy one.
The home learning period has had its challenges, but we hope that it also provided an
opportunity for families to spend some quality time together. Once everyday life has
returned to normal, we hope to be able to look back on the memories of this time and
appreciate the opportunity to reconnect more. Though the virus has kept us apart,
families and friends have found new ways to stay together.
What Really Matters…
I would like to provide a link to a wonderful reflection by Tomos Roberts called “The
Great Realisation”, which sums up these very thoughts perfectly. I highly encourage
you to watch it when you have time and share it with others. It really makes us reflect
on what really matters.
Staff and families have been outstanding in embracing the remote / flexible learning
platform. Thank you to all. Important notices are attached. Further communication
will be sent home next week outlining safety protocols to be followed once we return.
Blessings for a peaceful and safe weekend.
Sincerely,
Mrs Carmen Blatti

We cannot wait to have everyone back at school!
I will provide you with our return to school arrangements next week, including modified morning drop-off and end-of-day pick up times and procedures, and our social distancing requirements for adults, which will include minimising parent access to the school. There will be some challenges, but the most important thing is that we re-establish the school learning routine for our students. I know and trust all parents will work with us and do whatever is required to enable a safe and smooth transition back to school.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is important that we check in with you and have an interview/conversation around your child’s
learning during term 1 and 2. Due to Remote Learning, we do not want to have a Pupil Free Day when
we return to school. Therefore, Parent Teacher Interviews will occur as a 15-minute video call using
Google Meet.
Grades prep to 2 will have their interviews on Thursday 21st May between 9.00AM and 3.00PM and
Friday 22nd May between 9.00AM and 3.00PM. You can book in your time using School Interviews
Online, just like usual. Please be aware that on these days, during these times teachers will not be
available to support remote learning. School Interviews Online will open Friday 15th May at 3.00PM
and will close on Tuesday 19th May at 3.00PM.
Grades 3 to 6 will have their interviews on Thursday 4th June between 9.00AM and 3.00PM and
Friday 5th June between 9.00AM and 3.00PM. You can book in your time for these interviews the
same way using School Interviews Online. Again, please be aware that on these days, during these
times teachers will not be available to support remote learning. School Interviews Online will open for
grades 3 to 6 on Friday 29th May at 3.00PM and will close on Tuesday 2nd June at 3.00PM.
Once you have made a booking via School Interviews Online, the classroom teacher will send you a
calendar invitation with the link to the video call. This invitation will be sent through your child’s
Gmail account, so please continue to check your child’s emails as well as the spam/junk folder. When
it is time for your video call please click the joining info hyperlink and it will take you to the video call.
Helping parents prepare to meet the teachers…
To get the most out of parent-teacher handover conversations, it helps to be well prepared. We have
put together a sample range of questions that the teachers may ask you regarding remote learning
and your child. The questions may include:
o Tell me about your child’s home learning so far.
o What have you noticed about your child’s learning? E.g. persistence, having a go, etc.
o What have they enjoyed the most/least?
o What strengths have they shown?
o What have been their challenges?
o How much support have you been providing to your child?
o What may be some learning goals for your child when they return to school?
It’s important to be on time for parent-teacher interviews, but please be aware that teachers might
be running late because previous conversations have run over time.
We thank you for all your support during these new times and are looking forward to school returning
in the coming weeks.
