to Training Private School Administrators about New Faculty Development: A Research and

Development Project.” This study’s primary goal was to develop and field test a problem-based

learning module designed to teach prospective private school administrators how to create and

implement a faculty development plan for new teachers.

2004 – 2015 Board of Trustees and on-site supervisor for the Executive Director. Chaired three search

committees for EDs. Breakthrough Cincinnati is a four-year, year-round, tuition-free, academically

rigorous enrichment program.

OHIO ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS COLUMBUS, OH

2004 – 2015 President (2010-2013), Vice-President (2008-2010). Led the association to reach consensus about

shifting its focus from collegial professional development to legislative advocacy to stop Ohio from

intruding on our curricular freedom. Chaired search committee for the new Executive Director.

BREAKTHROUGH COLLABORATIVE SAN FRANCISCO, CA

2006 – 2012 Board of Trustees of the National Collaborative which is responsible for providing support for

the 34 local sites. Represented the “host school” point of view to support long term improvement.

2004 – 2015 Board of Trustees. The foundation actively seeks minority students and informs them about

educational opportunities at the most prestigious independent local day and boarding schools.

2004 – 2010 Board of Trustees. The fund supports diversity recruitment.

THE WINSTON SCHOOL SHORT HILLS, NJ

1995 – 2004 Vice President of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Personnel Committee. Developed

guidelines and an orientation process for new trustees. Worked closely with the head to develop

annual goals and to evaluate her performance.

2002 – 2004 Educational Policy Committee. In partnership with competitive secondary schools, developed

PERSONAL LIFE AND INTERESTS

Married in 1990 to Lynn Kennedy Macrae. Four children: Donny (26), Timmy (24), Celia (21), and Jenna (17).

Enjoy playing squash and golf and practicing Pilates and yoga. Extensive travel in Europe, Asia, Africa, and

South America
