This is an Honors, College Preparatory Course.
Before you enroll is this course:- You should have already completed Chemistry I- You should have already completed Algebra II w/ Trig
This is a math intensive course.- If you have weak math skills, you should expect to put in extra time & extra effort into this course and attend tutoring as necessary.
Materials Needed for Class
You will need a 3-Ring Binder dedicated exclusively to Physics.
You will need at
least5 Tab Dividers for
your Notebook.
You will need tabs
for- Class notes
- Practice problems
- Quest- Quizzes & Tests
- Labs
Materials Needed for Class
PencilPenEraserMechanical pencils are preferred (less trips to the sharpener)
Pens should have blue or black ink for reports handed in to me (You may use other colors of ink for your notes)
Eraser should be white, plastic (they erase cleanly and do not damage bubble answer sheets)

Protractor
Metric Ruler
You need a see-thru protractor.(Do not buy the kind with an attached arm.)
An approximately 6 inch ruler (14 cm) is sufficient.(Longer rulers are hard to store in binder or book bag without them breaking.)It must have metric (SI) divisions, it may also have inches.
Materials Needed for Class
Lots of Loose Leaf Paper
You may use College Ruled or Wide Ruled.
College Ruled is preferred.
Buy several packs while it is on sale. You will go through a lot of paper in this course.

Scientific Calculator
You must have a scientific calculator.
You do not have to buy a graphing calculator, but if you already have one, please bring it .
Please put your name on your calculator.

Lab Fees
Lab Fees for CP Physics are $10
Make checks payable to “MGM”
Include a Driver’s License # and two phone #’s on the check.
Put the name of the student on the “for” line.
Class Rules
Be on Time
When you enter the classroom late, you disrupt the concentration of everyone else.
To be on time means that you are in your seat with your notebook open and you are working on the bell ringer when the tardy bell rings. Don’t wait until the tardy bell to get on task.

Be Prepared.
You should bring your notebook, paper, pencil, book and calculator everyday.

Don’t Shout OutAnswers.
Raise your hand and wait to be called upon.

Cell Phones should be put away unless given express permission to use them for entering web based homework.
Never cruise the internet, visit Facebook, nor send emails during class.
Texting during class is never allowed, and when done during lecture, is just plain rude.

Restroom
Use the restroom during class changes and/or during lunch.
Don’t pop into class and announce that you’ll be right back.
Unless it is a dire emergency, don’t ask to go to the restroom the first few minutes of class.

Respect
Treat everyone in the class with care and respect.
Ensure that in our classroom when a classmate “goes out on a limb” with an answer/theory that there is a safety net below them and not a lake full of alligators.
