    NGA GraduationRate

    The percentage of students who have graduated within four years of entering ninthgrade for the first time. Students who transfer out are removed from the group of

    students tracked. Incoming transfer students are included in the class with which theyare scheduled to graduate. A graduate is a student who receives a standard or special

    diploma, a diploma through the GED program, certificate recipients, and students who

    return to school for an additional year. Dropouts are defined as non-graduates.

    Truancy Rate This is a "habitual truancy" rate, which aligns with the definition of "habitual truant" as

    defined by Florida statute (F.S. 1003.01 (8)). This was calculated as the number ofstudents who registered 15 or more unexcused absences within either of the two

    semesters, divided by the number of students enrolled at the school, for at least oneday, at any point during the same year. This is an unduplicated count of students.
