This release of the School Data Profile introduces a new table for the reporting of

Individual Curriculum Plans (ICP). This table provides schools with a summary count

of students at the school with an endorsed ICP. Each student is only counted once,

but may have an ICP across multiple learning areas.

An ICP is required when a student in Prep-Year 10 is taught, assessed and reported

in a lower or higher year level, or through a highly individualised curriculum as part of

the Australian Curriculum.

The Individual Curriculum Plan - School Summary report details the number and

types of ICPs provided for individual students. It also provides information about

ICPs which are in draft and not yet endorsed. These reports are available in

OneSchool from the Reports menu, under Curriculum.

improvement planning is most effective when the whole school community is engaged in the

development of the improvement priorities of the school.

Planning, implementing and reviewing using an inquiry approach is designed to assist school

leaders, staff and the community share in decision making and learn collaboratively.

count. Classes are measured against the target of 25 students per teacher in Prep Year to Year 3 and

Years 11 to 12, and target of 28 students per teacher in Years 4 to 10.

Rate per Term per 1000: Average number of SDA incidents per 1000 students per Term for the

reporting period. # From 2015, Exclusion represents principal decisions to exclude rather than

recommendations for exclusion. From 2015 where a principal decided not to exclude, a small

number of recommendations for exclusions have been counted as a long suspension.

Exclusions, Cancellations and Long & Charge Suspensions may be upheld or set aside through

an appeals process. ^ Caution should be used when comparing post 2013 SDA data as

amendments to EGPA disciplinary provisions and changes in methodology created time series

Pre-Prep (0P) in Indigenous communities is a part-time, early years education program targeting 3 to 4 year olds living in 35 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. 0P figures may include eKindy.

Only full-time students are included in the above Enrolment figures for all year levels except Pre-Prep. N Entered/Exited Feb-Nov is the number of students that entered/exited the school during that period.

Students not assigned to a valid year level will be included in the ‘All Students’ rows, but not represented in the individual Year Level rows; therefore the ‘All Students’ values may not equal the sum of the

Year Level values. Where applicable, Continuing Junior (CJ) students are included in the above Year 10 column, and Continuing Senior (CS) students are included in the above Year 12 column.

Attendance figures are for Semester 1.

Enrolment data is based on the Census collection.

Teaching Staff Attendance

and Retention

Staff Attendance rates are calculated by dividing the

hours attended plus any planned leave by the total of

work hours available. The total hours available does

not include school holidays for teachers. Staff

Retention rates are calculated as a percentage by

dividing the FTE of the remaining staff, after

terminations and transfers, by the total FTE

establishment as per the Staff Workforce

Composition. 2017 data as at 21 July 2017.

Apparent Retention Year 10 to Year 12 - Indigenous/Non-Indigenous Gap

* Writing results from 2011 cannot be compared to previous years.

Indig N is the count of indigenous students with a score (excludes absent, exempt & withdrawn students).

NAPLAN 2018 data is preliminary.

Apparent retention rates are computed as the ratio of the number of year 12 full-time students in a given year to the number of year 10 full-time students 2 years prior. The

retention rates are labelled "apparent" as they do not take account events such as interstate or overseas migration, repeating students, return of adult students and the

movement of students to and from the state sector. For these reasons it is possible to obtain apparent retention rates greater than 100%. Based on the August Census

enrolment collection.
