Welcome: We would like to extend welcome to all our Pupils who start- ed in September - Antonette O’Leary, Dermot O’Leary &Tadgh Costello. Building Works: During the break we will be repairing the roof of the original building and carrying out some other minor building works. When complete this means that the whole building will have been up- graded. Organic Garden: The organic garden is going very well. Some of the vegetables were sent home over the past few weeks. At some stage, every- one will get to take some vegetables home. Lourdes: A free trip to Lourdes is available to Pupils aged between 11 and 18 years. Those wishing to go must not have travelled with the Irish Pilgrimage Trust in the past three years. The trip takes place at Easter each year. Application forms are available from the office. Closing date for applications is 31.10.2017. Halloween Party: A Halloween Party will be held on Friday in the school. Pupils are asked to dress up for the occasion. Next issue due at Christmas 2017. Notes for the Diary: Temporary date for the First Holy

Communion is 4th May at 10.30am and will take place in Beaufort

Parish Church. We are awaiting a date for the Confirmation from the

Bishop’s office. If you would like your Child to receive either Sacra-

ment please contact the class teacher over the next few weeks.

Closures: School will close on Friday at 2.40pm as usual for the Hal-

loween Break and will re-open on Monday 6th November. The

school will be OPEN on Friday 8th December as normal. It will

close at 12 noon on Friday 22nd December for the Christmas holi-

days.

Transition Year Programme: This year we are piloting a Transition

Year Programme between some senior students in SFSS and some

same-age Transition Year students in Killorglin Community College.

Parents of students involved will be informed on an individual basis.

Some of the work may involve art, PE, cookery, woodwork and

board games.

Social Trips: Various class trips to Dingle, Tralee, Killarney, Croma-

ne & Killorglin have taken place since September. Pupils have lots of

fun learning on these days out!

Well Wishes: Everyone in the school would like to wish Jason

O’Connor a speedy recovery after his operation. We look forward to

his return in the near future! Best of luck to Shane Brosnan who is

having an operation during the break.
