Success!

The annual Scholastic Book Fair was once again greatly supported by the school community. Almost $606.46 profit (cash and books) was raised. All proceeds go directly to the school library. ing student achievement and well-being.

during the afternoon of that day. These meetings will allow for

school staff to engage in culminating activities regarding the review

and revision of the School’s Improvement Plan as well as year-end

Class Placements for 2017-2018

At this time of year our staff begins the comprehensive process of creating tentative class lists for the

next year. Our primary goal is to develop safe and supportive classes that balance gender, interests,

learning styles and promote peer relationships.

Again this year, as a result of Ministry guidelines regarding class sizes, we will be working on the

school organization, teacher assignments and class placements over the summer and into

September 2017 so students will continue to find out their class placement on the first day of school in September.

DRESS CODE

As the weather turns warm, we would like to remind everyone of our school dress code. The full dress code is clearly laid out in the front of our student agendas. Please review these general guidelines with

your child.

Midriffs must be covered

All undergarments must be covered at all times.

Thanks for your ongoing support of this school policy.

Please remember to send your child with applied

sunscreen, hat and reusable water bottle.

Any requests from parents for records and information related to CRA Tax Benefit

applications, etc will be handled by our Community Education Centre during the

summer. The phone number is 905 727 0022.

Message from our Trustee– Peter Adams– Luchowski

As we near the end of the school year, I want to thank you for all that you do to strengthen our schools and communities. This is a good time to celebrate your child’s achievements over the past year.

One of our goals in the Trustees’ Multi-Year Plan is to “continuously increase student achievement and well-being through a culture and caring and learning.” That includes a culture that emphasizes engage-ment and positive relationships among all the members of the school community – students, staff mem-bers, families and community members.

You, as parents/guardians, are our most important partners when it comes to education. The support you have provided to your child throughout this past school year will help to strengthen our schools and make a difference to your child’s learning.

I encourage you to continue engaging your child in learning throughout the summer, and to help them to see the connections between what they are learning in school and the world around them. There are so many opportunities to do this over the summer, whether that’s planning a budget with your child, enjoy-ing the natural beauty in York Region, reading a book or visiting local sites. Whatever your plans are this summer, I wish you all a successful end to the school year, and a safe and enjoyable summer.
