About St Hilda’s School In 1912, St Hilda’s School opened its doors to 56 Boarders and 23 Day Girls. Today, 1180 girls are enrolled at
St Hilda’s School, including 170 Boarders.
For more than a century, St Hilda’s School and the community around us have shared the vision of a world-
class, active learning environment that embraces innovation and is enriched with Anglican faith and tradition.
St Hilda’s is the only girls’ school in the Gold Coast region and we take pride in the special environment we
offer to our students and their families. The spirit of St Hilda’s shines when the actions of students of all ages
reflect the school motto: Non Nobis Solum – Not For Ourselves Alone.
St Hilda’s beautiful 14-hectare campus is located on Queensland’s Gold Coast, where studies are
complemented with access to beaches, sub-tropical rainforests, a vibrant CBD and major sporting events.
From state-of-the-art science and sports facilities to stained-glass windows, at St Hilda’s School we honour
our century-old heritage while providing first-class spaces designed for optimal learning, training, community
and creativity.
Inspiring the Women of Tomorrow Our aim at St Hilda’s School is to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment which inspires young
women and equips them with the values, knowledge, skills and confidence they will need to reach their full
potential, and to serve, shape and change the world. We celebrate intellectual pursuit and consider learning to
be a privilege, a joyous life-long journey for both students and staff.
At St Hilda’s School, we are strong advocates of all-girls’ education. Research1 has found that in single
gender schools, girls:
o indicated that being in all-girls classes had helped them ‘learn better’
o said that behaviour in all-girl classes was better than in mixed-gender classes
o want to achieve higher
o have higher self-esteem
o enjoy Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) based learning more
o are confident and assertive and feel free to take risks
o have increased self-confidence in leadership roles
St Hilda’s students consistently achieve high results and aspire to careers in a diverse range of fields. In 2019,
75% of girls achieved an OP1-10, more than 20% above the state average. 50.6% of graduates went on to
study in the areas of Health and Science, 22.7% in the areas of Business, Law and Criminology and 5.3% in
Engineering. Other avenues of study included Aviation, Journalism, Education and the Arts.
