AN INDEPENDENT BODY: The Committee on Bible Translation (CBT) is the self-governed, independent team of evangelical biblical scholars that controls the translation of the NIV Bible. No publisher or any other third party can tell the CBT how to translate God’s Word.
The scholarship of the NIV is reliable.

A QUALIFIED TEAM OF SCHOLARS The NIV translators are from many different denominations, and all firmly believe that the original manuscripts are the inspired Word of God and completely free from error, being the work of men who were directed by the Spirit of God.
MAJORITY RULES To safeguard the NIV translation against theological or ideological bias, the Committee on Bible Translation only makes changes to the English translated text if at least 70% of the committee agrees to the changes.
