SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR MASTER STUDENTS 2019

With this scholarship program deAuteurs wants to support Master’s students at the time when they need it the most. The range is diverse and the selection criteria as objective as possible.deAuteurs is an independent Belgian collective management organization, active in various artistic fields such as film, television, theatre, literature and illustration. deAuteurs offers her members free professional & legal advice, and collects and distributes such rights as audiovisual, performing, reprography, private copying and public lending rights.

Graduation scholarships deAuteurs 2019For master students fiction, animation or documentary,

film or television

deAuteurs gives scholarships of € 1000 to Master students. These scholarships should give them the opportunity to write their graduation work, to direct it or to do the post-production of it.

Admission criteria

• You are a Master student at a Flemish or a Brussels film school• You are the author of the work for which you request the scholarship• You make your graduation work and submit your scholarship application before the date of submission of your final work• You are not yet affiliated with another collective management organization for your audiovisual work• You are domiciled in Belgium

Application procedure

• Register by e-mail• Pitch

Register by Monday 11 March 2019 to sgomez@deauteurs.be mentioning your name, school and title of the work.

What? Pitch your project in 5 minutes + 10 minutes of discussion with the jury When? Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 March 2019 Where? The European House of Authors Koninklijke Prinsstraat 87 1050 Brussels

Bring along on the day of the pitch:

• One page (in 3 printed copies) with: - titel of the work - logline - synopsis - practical details (name and surname, school, rotation period, ...)• Moodboard• CV with filmography and links to previous work• Written statement from the promoter who supports the scholarship application and confirms that it is about a graduation work

Note: the pitch will be given in Dutch or in English.

Obligations

In exchange for the scholarship:

• You become a member of deAuteurs • You mention the support and logo of deAuteurs in the end credits and / or on all promotional material of the work• You give deAuteurs a copy of the graduation work

Writer’s residence in De Letterie, Ostend For Master students (screenplay or direction)

fiction, animation or documentary, film or television

deAuteurs offers two writers’ residences of one week for two master’s students who want to work on their master’s thesis in Ostend. The students stay in De Letterie, a writer’s place with two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and a large workspace.

deAuteurs takes care of the rent of the location and provides for each student a show or concert by choice in Ostend (De Grote Post, Kaap, ...).

Period

From Monday 11/3 to Sunday 17/3 (two students) or From Monday 18/3 to Sunday 24/3 (two students)

Every Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm deAuteurs organizes in collaboration with De Letterie ‘Zilte Zondagen’, in which the master students present their work and also receive a critical response to their work. deAuteurs invites professionals and opens this afternoons to the public.

• You are a Master student at a Flemish or a Brussels film school• You are the author of the work for which you request the writer’s residence• You make your graduation work and submit your scholarship application before the date of submission of your final work• You are not yet affiliated with another collective management organization

deAuteurs offers scholarships of 250 euro for master’s students theatre & dance for their graduation project.This scholarship can be requested for external coaching in the field of writing, creating, choreographing or purchasing material for the design of the performance. Costs that are not directly related to the project are not taken into account.

• You are a Master student at a Flemish or a Brussels school• You are the author of the work for which you request the scholarship• You are not yet affiliated with another collective management organization for your audiovisual work• You are domiciled in Belgium

deAuteurs offers scholarships of 250 euro for master’s students illustration for their graduation project.This scholarship can be requested to cover the costs directly related to the project, such as drawing material & paper, frames for the graduation project, business cards, etc. Costs that are not directly related to the project are not taken into account.
