•to encourage Schlumberger people to make personal contributions to spark young people’s interest in science.

•to provide access to technological and knowledge resources for students and teachers in underserved communities where Schlumberger people live and work.

•to bring together young people from different cultures to share ideas and actions that benefit their communities.

SEED is … Volunteering

Page 11: Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development Igniting passion for science and learning in youth and empowering them to use knowledge and technology.

SEED is part of our operations and it is as essential to Schlumberger principles as the air we breathe is to life. PDVSA and the communities respect us for our real efforts, which they see in the personal commitment and involvement of our volunteers.– Hatem Soliman, General Manager. Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, and Caribbean (VTT) 2004-2007

From the bottom of my heart, SEED is beneficial to the community. In my opinion, SEED not only organizes educational programs but also makes someone’s dreams come true.– Simon Lim Kok Loong, SEED student, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

SEED continuously gives me the opportunity to experience the joy of learning and discovery with children. For every moment of time, energy, knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm that I give, I receive double the amount of joy in return.– Sylvia Sundqvist, SEED volunteer, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

By addressing the desire of young people to express their creative talent, SEED has harmonized with their needs and provided an opportunity for them to express themselves while addressing global issues, such as water and climate change. – Svetlana Belova, SEED coordinator, Russia

SEED is … Meaningful

Page 12: Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development Igniting passion for science and learning in youth and empowering them to use knowledge and technology.

Our Mission is to inspire, influence and enable educators in underserved communities where Schlumberger people live

and work to engage youth in science and technology. This will be achieved by building multicultural learning

communities and knowledge-sharing environments in which students and educators collaborate in their local languages

with scientists and volunteers on projects that address global issues.
