SCHEME OF ASSESSMENTS Classes I & II Assessment is an integral part of the teaching and learning process. To ensure the effectiveness of student’s educational experience, it is important that varied assessment techniques be used at regular intervals. Bloom School has defined the following objectives for assessment: 1. To provide quality feedback to students so as to ensure growth in learning of students. 2. To effectively guide students through the essential elements of learning: the acquisition of knowledge, the understanding of concepts, the mastering of skills. 3. To provide feedback to parents regarding students’ progress through grades. To achieve the above objective the Academic Session has been divided into four Quarters. PROMOTION POLICY / RULES

• As per CBSE there is no detention policy .But in order to be declared as ‘Passed’, a candidate shall

obtain not less than 35% marks in each of the five subjects separately and in aggregate.

• Student has to secure 35% marks out of overall 20 marks earmarked in each subject in Internal

Assessment too.

• A student should maintain 75% attendance in an academic session.

• Students will be awarded only grades.

• It is mandatory to appear in all Examinations.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATIONS AND ASSESSMENTS

Classes VI-VIII

1. The academic year is divided into two terms and examinations are held at the end of each term.

2. Evaluation of the Scholastic Aspect will be conducted according to the CBSE guidelines

which are tabulated below.

3. Attendance in assessments for all classes from VI to VIII is compulsory.

4. Students found using unfair means during any Periodic Test or Term Examination will be marked zero in

that subject. These students will not be eligible for any academic award or school appointment.

5. The final result will be calculated by taking 10% weightage of the Periodic Test + 10% weightage of

Note Book and Subject Enrichment Activities + 80% weightage of Half Yearly and Final Exam.

6. We hope that with the cooperation and support of the parents, we shall be able to make a success of this

system which is a path breaking initiative taken by C.B.S.E to aspire for holistic development of the

students in a conducive environment.

2. Student has to secure 33% marks out of overall 20 marks in each subject

in Internal Assessment too.

3. A student having less than 75% attendance in an academic session shall

not be permitted to appear in the Final Examination.

4. Students will be awarded Marks as well as grades in classes VI-VIII.

5. It is mandatory to appear in all Examinations.

EXAMINATIONS FOR IX & X

With restoration of class X Board examination with effect from Academic Year

2017-18, the assessment structure and examination pattern for class IX will be

similar to that of class X.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATIONS AND ASSESSMENTS

1. Evaluation of the Scholastic aspect will be conducted according to the

C.B.S.E guidelines which are tabulated below.

Co-Scholastic Activities (IX - X): For the holistic development of the students

the co-curricular activities and discipline area will be graded on five point

grading scale (A – E).

3. Students found using unfair means during any weekly test or term

Examination will be marked zero in that subject. These students will not be

eligible for any academic award or school appointment.

4. We hope that with the cooperation and support of the parents, we shall be

able to make a success of this system which is a path breaking initiative

taken by C.B.S.E to aspire for holistic development of the students in a

conducive environment.

PROMOTION POLICY / RULES FOR CLASS XI

1 In order to be declared as ‘Passed’ a candidate shall obtain not less than 33%

marks in each of the five subjects on Cumulative basis in theory and practical

separately.

2 If a student gets less than 33% in one subject, he/she will be placed in

‘compartment’ in the said subject as per the rules. Student failing in more than one

subject shall not be promoted.

3 In case of absence due to medical reason, the student may be exempted from First

Term Examination in the respective subject and may be promoted on the basis of

the annual examination only. However if a student fails to appear for final

examination due to medical grounds, he/she shall give his/her exam along with

compartment examination. Medical certificate is necessary.

4 A student having less than 75% attendance in an academic session shall not be

permitted to appear in the Final Examination.

5 All students have to take each test/examination so as to determine his/her result on

Cumulative basis. In order to calculate Cumulative result the Weightage of each

term will be as follows:
