Rationale

In this subject basic concept and principles of Fabric Testing is included. Basic concept of

fibre and yarn testing affecting fabric properties, texture, handle are also included. Identification of

Fibre, effect of atmospheric condition on fibre has been discussed.

Objectives:

This subjects intends to equip students with the concepts, principles and methods of testing

of various textile materials, which is helpful in selection of raw materials, process control and

quality assurance. The process improvement is also an important aspect, which requires lot of

experimentation. This processes results in number of observations, which are to be analyzed and

interpreted and used for best results. Therefore, students are equipped with the methods to analyse

the testing results statistically.
