The Thickness Parameter in Footing Schedule is missing!!!

Many Users are surprised and shocked to find that when we create a Footingschedule, the Thickness parameter is found to be missing. Let us learn how wecreate this parameter in schedule.

Step 1:Start a New Project with the Default Metric Template.Create a Shared Parameter File.Go to Manage Tab, Select Shared parametersIn the Edit Shared Parameters dialog box click Create... Button

Give the file name as Footing. It is text file. Save it in the default mydocuments folder.In the Edit Shared Parameters dialog box click New Button under Group

These Foundations will be visible by default in Revit Structure and in RevitArchitecture, go to View Range in View Properties and Change the ViewDepth to Level Below.

Step 3:

Select one Instance of Footing and Click Edit Family

Step 4:

Go to Front Elevation from the Project BrowserGo to Home Tab, Click Family Types ButtonRemove the Thickness Parameter as shown below

Select Yes from the Dialog box below.

Click OK to close the dialog box.

Step 5:Select the Dimension, and Select Add Parameter from the Label dropdown in the Options bar as shown below.

Select Shared Parameter and Click Select... Button

Select the Thickness Parameter created inStep 1:

Click OK button twice to close the dialog box.

Step 6:

Now you may create a Schedule of Footing to get the Thicknessparameter as a schedule field.Go to View Tab, Select Schedule / QuantitiesSelect Structural Foundations from the Category List.Now, you should get Thickness Parameter from the Available List.
