ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Android is a free, open source

mobile platform. It is a Linux – based,

multiprocessing, multithreaded OS. Android

provides a rich application framework that

allows you to build innovative apps and games

for mobile devices. It provides an adaptive app

framework that allows you to provide unique

resources for different device con#iguration.

The main object ive of this

workshop is to give you an idea on how to start

developing applications for mobile devices

using Android OS. The workshop contents are

designed to give you live demos and hands – on

experience in developing Android apps.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Ms. C. Sangeetha works as a Software Trainer at

FIIT, Chennai a pioneer institute in software

training and development. She is an Electronics

Engineering Graduate and has extensive

knowledge and development ability in Application

Development, Cloud Computing and IOT solutions.

She has also served in leadership positions for

Application Development and Cloud Computing

with several industries and institutions. Her skill

set includes working with domains like Web

Application Development, Android Application

Development, Software Development, and Cloud

Computing. She is also well versed with various

software languages, databases, development

/testing/cloud computing tools and web

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTThe Department was established in 1998 with two UG

programmes and one PG programme. Considering the

fact that India is thrusting itself as the leader into the

information technology era, the department aims to

impart high quality education and prepare the young

men and women to challenge the ever-demanding IT

#ield. The curriculums of the courses are designed to give

strong foundation in all technical aspects of computers

and its applications and also to develop the

communication and soft skills of the students. Apart

from making them good IT professionals, the
